Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: evince
Hi,
I have a HP OfficeJet 8000 with duplex unit. I could easily set up the printer
and the normal operations work without problems. However, I can not use the
duplex mode within Evince and OpenOffice. The Print dialog gives me not the
opportunity to activate duplex, even though I set it up in the printer settings.
The following steps were made:
- Printer connected via Ethernet
- Add the printer under System-> Administration-> Printing
- In the same program I have set the following three settings:
- Under "Installable Options" I set "Duplexer Installed" enabled
- Under "Printer Options" I set "Media Size" to "A4 Auto Duplex"
- Under "Printer Options" I can configure "Double-sides printing" example "Long
edge"
- A PDF is opened with Evince
- Starting printing with STR + P
- In "Page Setup" I can only select "One Sided" within the option "Two-sided"
- Open Office has been opened
- In the OOo printer dialog I can set duplex mode only to "off"
Here is a screenshot of the situation. On the left side the printer
configuration, on the right the Evince printing dialog.
When I use the HPLIP Toolbox (package 'hp-gui') for printing, then the duplex
mode works without any problems. The same with the Adobe Reader. Is there a way
I can print on both sides with the gnome standard programs?
Greetings
Alexander Skrotzky
