[Bug 332945] Re: [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information
What I don't understand is if the idea was to eventually have another method of handling notifications for updates, as opposed to the current method, then why not wait until that other method is complete? I don't understand why one would try and partially implement it and give the user a bad experience? This seems parallel to when pulseaudio was first included and didn't work for the best supported cards and most user disabled it. Now it seems up to the quality level to be beneficial to the user and I'm glad it's included. I understand that not including it when it was would have hampered the adoption a little, but honestly, I'd rather have things that work. -- [Jaunty] Update Notifier icon would provide useful status information https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/332945 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 227229] Re: LDAP and AD connection problem with hardy
I have encountered this bug as well. First I ran into this bug on Hardy, which I built libnss-ldap from source to solve it. Now I'm facing the same problem on Intrepid, so it seems like something is up. Looking at kunzol's fix, I am mapping the msSFU30GidNumber to gid as well and making a filter for the groups worked on Intrepid, but not Hardy. -- LDAP and AD connection problem with hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/227229 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libnss-ldap in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 86773] openoffice splashscreen wrong version
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openoffice.org With openoffice 2.1, the splashscreen, on startup, says the version is 2.0. Also if you go to help, about openoffice.org, it shows an image that says 2.0, while the version is 2.1 I am on Feisty, herd 4. [Bug 85099] Re: Broadcom bcm43xx broken with 2.6.20.8 kernel
I have a broadcom 4309 and with 3.x firmware under the 2.6.20.8 kernel, my wireless interface shows up under iwconfig, but if I try and set anything like the SSID, if get a bunch of errors. With a 4.x Windows drivers, it appears like it's going to work, ie APs show up under network manager, but the status of those APs is unknown. I can't connect to any of them and ultimately the laptop does a hard lock. My question is what is at fault for not handling the 4.x firmware? [Bug 85847] shutdown menu pops up twice
Public bug reported: I am running the up-to-date version of Feisty (Herd 4, I believe it is) and when I hit the power button my laptop, the shutdown menu pops up like it's supposed to, but if I click cancel, it pops back up a second time. [Bug 83454] amarok 1.4.5 will not build collection
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: amarok I'm on ubuntu feisty and got the new amarok today (1.4.5). I fired it up and remembered that had gotten rid of some of my music and my collection needed updating. So I tried the new feature, update collection and it didn't appear to do anything. The I ran rescan collection and it acted like it was going to start scanning, but then it didn't anything. So I figured might be something with the database (I'm using SQLlight). So I shutdown amarok and tried reloading it and under the collection tab, it just says building collection database... See that the amarok process wasn't actual doing anything, I shut it down and deleted my entire .kde folder (resetting all my kde settings). Fired up amarok and told it where my collection and it just sits there, using no cpu and definitely not building my collection. ** Affects: amarok (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- amarok 1.4.5 will not build collection https://launchpad.net/bugs/83454 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

It's a controlled shutdown. As if you went to the shutdown menu and click on shutdown.
