I also have a SSD and experience the same problem with black screen and a blinking cursor on startup. If I enter the password for my account then the black screen is displayed I am logged in but I don't see anything then I enter the text. I thought the fix in #16 did the trick but today I once again experienced the black screen... I finally got it working to...
