[Bug 1348890] Re: Asus UX32LN: Brightness keys Fn+F5 and Fn+F6 don't generate evdev event

2015-12-10 Thread sokai
Confirmed on ASUS UX303LNB, too.

$~# sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
UX303LNB.206
01/22/2015

Brightness settings are working in system settings and in terminal (echo $VALUE
> /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight/brightness).
Thanks for fixing …! :)

Is it possible to get a package/fix for 12.10? (ATM I have installed the
PPA from misterc that fixed the problem with 12.10.)

[Bug 1106110] Re: gnome-keyring changes tmp-folder during Gnome-session

2013-02-21 Thread sokai
Hi there!

This morning I had this problem again and I will explain the problem
more …

During my Gnome-session gnome-keyring dies (in the background) without any
error messages (/var/log/syslog, ~/.xsession-errors).
As you can see in the following command output, there are multiple
keyring-folders in /tmp.

#> ps aux|grep keyr
$user 2337 0.0 0.0 51596 7428 ?Sl Feb20 0:00
/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground --components=secrets
$user18099 0.2 0.1 75620 14032 ?SLl 10:18 0:01
/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground --components=secrets
$user18926 0.0 0.0 5884 832 pts/1S+ 10:29 0:00 grep keyr

#> ll /tmp/
drwx-- 2 $user $user 4,0K Feb 20 16:50 keyring-92x5pQ/
drwx-- 2 $user $user 4,0K Feb 20 13:18 keyring-B1KV8T/
drwx-- 2 $user $user 4,0K Feb 20 16:46 keyring-lIhMpd/
drwx-- 2 $user $user 4,0K Feb 21 10:18 keyring-ZciiCm/

It seems there are some similarities with Bug #383926 [0]. I think there
could be a temporarily workaround if I would know the equivalent for
„$SSH_AUTH_SOCK“.

[0] https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-
keyring/+bug/383926/comments/10

I can use the new keyring-folder in (i.e.) Chromium after a automatic re-auth.
(In Chromium the keyring-auth pops up and I can enter my password to get access
to the new keyring instance.)
In Thunderbird/Enigmail that doesn't work! There is no re-auth dialog after the
keyring-restart (in the background) and I only get a pop-up with the message,
that I used a wrong password for encryption (of my email). :-/

For me only a logout→login solves the problem (with Thunderbird/Enigmail). – Or
 a reboot …
I don't think that the silent deaths of gnome-keyring in the background are
‚normal‘, so I posted this bug-report.

Thanks a lot for taking attention and best regards!

[Bug 1106110] [NEW] gnome-keyring changes tmp-folder during session

2013-01-26 Thread sokai
Public bug reported:

Hi there!

Since some weeks I have the following problem on my system (Ubuntu
12.04).

During a running Ubuntu session (i.e. the uptime is 16 hours) my system
looses the connection to the right tmp-folder of the running gnome-
keyring-daemon.

Error message:
WARNING: gnome-keyring:: couldn't connect to: /tmp/keyring-Ea7GEe/pkcs11:
Verbindungsaufbau abgelehnt

Running process:
$user25131 0.1 0.0 51620 7428 ?Sl 15:55 0:00
/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground --components=secrets

Content of tmp-folder:
drwx-- 2 $user $user 4,0K Jan 26 00:00 keyring-Ea7GEe/
drwx-- 2 $user $user 4,0K Jan 26 16:09 keyring-t5kJex/

So you can see, the original tmp-folder (Ea7GEe) is still there, but a
new one (t5kJex) was created. And so I have to reboot my box, to get the
correct connection for all my running apps (like Thunderbird with
Enigmail) or on aria2 in my terminal (it works, but I get the error
message).

with the new Kernel.

For example my Opera was crashing all the time… – After booting into

Also my Wifi disconnected and my banking software Hibiscus/Jameica

[Bug 707443] Re: thesauri and hyphenation packages should be renamed

2011-01-30 Thread sokai
Hi!

I can't understand what Fabián (#1) ment. :(
Today I wanted to use hyphenation with a German text (German installation) and
wasn't successful.

After digging the problem I found the following out:
- there is no package named "libreoffice-hyphenation-*" in the PPA,
- the extension "German (de-DE frami) dictionaries" (from
http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/en/project/dict-de_DE_frami ) didn't
work.

But:
After the installation of the packages "openoffice.org-thesaurus-de" and
"openoffice.org-hyphenation-de" everything works like it should - with
Libreoffice! :)

My system information: Maverick with LibreOffice-PPA (only writer +
impress) and "language-support-writing-de"

Best regards!

[Bug 496093] Re: [lucid] rt2860 frequently fails to connect to mixed mode WPA/WPA2 secured wireless networks

2011-04-10 Thread sokai
Hi there!
Maybe it's a solution for you - like me - to install the backported wireless
modules ("linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic") and blacklist the
"rt2860sta" module (sudo echo "blacklist rt2860sta" >>
/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf). After that my wifi is very stable by using the
modules rt2800lib, rt2800pci, rt2800lib and rt2x00pci.
I have a ASUS Eee PC 1000 with a "RaLink RT2860" wifi chip and use Ubuntu
Maverick with kernel 2.6.35-28-generic.

Cheers!

[Bug 496093] Re: [lucid] rt2860 frequently fails to connect to mixed mode WPA/WPA2 secured wireless networks

2010-08-02 Thread sokai
@Roman Vorobets (#247):
Hi Roman!
What does your comment mean? - Which Kernel do you have installed? Which Ubuntu
version are you using? Have you a fresh or upgraded installation? Which network
encryption type "works like a char" now?

ATM I'm looking for a real _solution_ cause I tried a lot of things
(only "tips") out there (forums, launchpad bugs, launchpad answers,...)
and nothing worked. :(

Best regards and thanks!

29 hours ago the first “virtuoso-opensource” package [0] for Lucid was released.
Is it possible to 'backport' them to/for Karmic?

... for release in Hardy Heron! *please*
I think not only hardware issues can keep off from upgrading to Intreped Ibex.
For me it's the i.e. the dis-usability of KDE4... :-|

Are there some _big_ changes in cups (1.3.9-2ubuntu6) that obstruct
releasing for Hardy?

see any 'official' solution (for Bionic). – Can someone maybe help (me)?

[Bug 1424843] Re: Not able to open several menus in gajim

2016-09-24 Thread sokai
Isn't it a problem with the "global menu"? – I changed
"/usr/share/applications/gajim.desktop" (like described in
http://askubuntu.com/a/411465) = disabled the "global menu" for gajim
and can access all menu entries …

There is an older gajim-Trac entry for this:
https://trac.gajim.org/ticket/7784

Thanks for fixing in advance!

[Bug 1584509] Re: hybrid CDs/DVDs not mounted in xenial

2016-07-03 Thread sokai
Thanks, Erick!

I can accept your hint/answer but for me the problem is: „Upgrading from
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS or 15.10 […] 14.04 LTS to LTS upgrades will be enabled
with the 16.04.1 LTS point release, in approximately 3 months time.“ [0]

So I/we expect 16.04.1 will be released on July, 21th – in the next
_three_ weeks. Until then I cann't read any DVD … :-|

If it is possible: I wish someone can build a fix, anyway. Thanks!
