[Bug 1973810] [NEW] Left-handed mouse reverts to right-handed

2022-05-17 Thread Igor Sokolov
Public bug reported:

When the mouse is set for left-handed people it randomly several times a
day reverts to right-handed. To fix it I must open settings, chek off
the checkbox for left-handed mouse, save it, then check the checkbox on
and save settings again.

[Bug 1812095] Re: console login loop after entering username followed by RETURN

2021-10-25 Thread sokolov
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1813873 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1813873

Maybe this helps: I have this problem on a Linux Mint 19.3 with kernels
4.15.0-142, 4.15.0-154, and 4.15.0-158 - those are all the kernels on my
system after I upgraded to 19.3.

I managed to delete the password for the user, but the problem still
persists. I can't log in via tty1.

(Due to a different issue with a graphic driver, I can't log in via GUI
either. I was hoping to fix that problem after loggin in via tty1,
alas... This means my system is shot.)

[Bug 1886653] Re: cups-pki-expired

2021-09-21 Thread sokolov
I'm affected with a Dell printer that suddenly started throwing this
error.

I tried adding the file client.conf to /etc/cups as suggested by Nyyr,
but that didn't help. Maybe the

AllowExpiredCerts Yes

has to go into a different .conf file in that folder?

[Bug 1748179] Re: Save as PDF produces scrambled output

2018-04-23 Thread sokolov
Same issue here with a Dell wireless scanner. I don't think the hardware
matters, as the images are scanned fine by Simple Scan, and I can save
the scanned pages individually as PNG files.

But saving them in a PDF results in a file that has parts of the scanned
pages overlaying each other with some transparency. These PDF files are
not usable. (This used to work fine just a few weeks ago, so some update
must have messed something up.)

[Bug 1183692] Re: Not enough disk space for kernel security update on /boot

Problem still persists in 15.04.

Also, it seems that the partition is simply too small. So this should be
changed in the installation routine, too. I only have two kernel images
there - the current one and the previous one. And I can't update because
there is insufficient space.

[Bug 495880] Re: Extracting a file with german Umlaut in the filename doesn't work

2013-04-12 Thread sokolov
Ma said:
I would recommend 7Z archvie to do cross-platform archive exchange since
it seems to support Unicode-based filename from day one.

I didn't even DO a cross-platform exchange. I ZIPed it on one Ubuntu
machine and tried to unzip it on another. No luck. Now I can't even
change the names of the files in the ZIP-archive. So, just because they
have a special character in the file name, the files seem to be stuck in
the archive. Can't get them out. It is frustrating.

ON my freshly installed 12.04 Beta 2 the same issue is present - no

I don't think it is a mere graphical problem: Choosing search from the

[Bug 527267] Re: Application Indicators too wide

The spacing is way too wide, especially on small screens. I have to fret
with 800x600 because there are no drivers for Intel GMA 3600 yet. And
even when there is, I'll be constrained to 1024 px. The spacing should
be adjustable (as should be the number of icons shown, but that is a
different story).

[Bug 635074] Re: Software list view flickers when changing search string

2011-04-18 Thread Geliy Sokolov
This path should fix unnecessary list refreshes. It will ignore:

' ' - when its additional trailing space or ',' is present in the search
field, when request is being made by exact pkg name
',' - when other comas are present with the same reason

All other chars are considered as a part of pkg name or description

I had the same problem - internal speakers and internal mic didn't work.
Yelavich's solution did work for me - however, the sound is very low and
the mic is not very strong either. Plus, in Skype it produces bad
feedback.

In a nutshell: Sound volume and recording volume are too low.

[Bug 507072] Re: Add support for freenode ircd-seven CAP command

2010-06-23 Thread Alexey Sokolov
Current Terence's implementation violates CAP specs.
Now xchat looks only to first capability returned by server.
So, LS :identify-msg multi-prefix works, but LS :multi-prefix identify-msg
doesn't.
This patch makes xchat to look the whole cap list, not only the first one.

[Bug 501439] [NEW] network-manager failes to reconnect to WPA personal seciurity WLAN

2009-12-29 Thread Sokolov Sergey
Public bug reported:

Before upgrading to Ubuntu 9.10 there was no such problem.

From lspci:
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR5001 Wireless
Network Adapter (rev 01)

I tried to connect to WPA personal WLAN at home. Network-manager asked to enter
password ( but the password had already been entered ), I enter the password
and network-manager tries to reconnect, but then asks for password again.
To WLAN without encryption it connects and reconnects successfully.

I tried to connect to this WLAN with other laptop (which has different
wi-fi adapter) and it connects and reconnects successfully.

Also, on Windows it connects to this WLAN.

Ubuntu 9.10 amd64 is installed on both computers.

No, now I have migrated to ReiserFS, because with ext4 my computer
started his own life, deleting my preferences on every boot.

But, I suppose, I can test your patches. After tests I'll write the
results. Thank you.

[Bug 272530] Re: 64-bit Intrepid automatic permanent reboot loop related to having exactly 4GB of memory

2009-06-29 Thread Sokolov Sergey
I updated the BIOS to 07LM version. THis fixes the problem with amd64
version of ubuntu. Now it installs correct without any options and all
4Gb of memory are available.

*Small tip. BIOS can be updates from 32-bit version of Windows only.*

[Bug 272530] Re: 64-bit Intrepid automatic permanent reboot loop related to having exactly 4GB of memory

2009-06-29 Thread Sokolov Sergey
I tried update from DOS boot disk. It doesn't work. As I understand the
program is 16-bit, but needs WinAPI.

I flashed BIOS from WIndows 7. Here you can find it:
http://torrents.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1925536

It's not a pirate version. It's available pre-RTM release. You can get
code from Microsoft. But you won't need it just for flashing.

It's a special build that can be installed from USB.

I couldn't find this bug, so I reported another here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/387955

For me mem=4096M option also workes and I also get only 2,9Gb of RAM
available. Now I'll check for BIOS version, maybe BIOS update can fix
the problem.

I've tested Ubuntu 8.04-9.10, Debian 5.0.

Systems, which workes perfectly: Windows 7 x86-64, FreeBSD 7.1 x86-64,
OpenSolaris x86-64.
