[Bug 972063] Re: Bluetooth Headset pairs but does not show up in Sound Settings profile

2012-10-19 Thread soreau
This bug affected me as well. The solution here worked for me and I
didn't see it anywhere in this thread so I figured I'd mention it:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=827692#c3

Quote:

What I think fixed the issue for me was to create

/etc/bluetooth/audio.conf

and add

[General]
Enable=Source,Sink,Headset,Gateway,Control,Socket,Media

[Bug 972063] Re: Bluetooth Headset pairs but does not show up in Sound Settings profile

2012-10-19 Thread soreau
There should be an existing [General] section that you can use. After
making this change, restart the bluetooth service and try again.

Re: [Bug 793893] Re: display not being updated after resume and screen unlock, until I restart compiz

2012-02-24 Thread soreau
This bug happens with compiz git master as well though it seems it starts
working after waiting for a few minutes. The amount of time the display has
been asleep seems to be proportionate to how long you have to wait before
compiz 'snaps out of it'. I suspect this could possibly be related to glib
timers being broken.

Re: [Bug 881904] Re: Provide a way for distributions to lock down settings values

2011-10-26 Thread soreau
 Title:
Provide a way for distributions to lock down settings values

 Bug description:
It is possible for users to really mess up their systems by disabling
important plugins like move, resize, composite, opengl and unityshell. As
such, we should provide a way for
distributions to be able to lock down certain parts of the user's
configuration, such as settings values or the plugins one is allowed to have
 enabled or disabled

I believe if you start compiz with plugins specified, they will not be able
to become disabled in ccsm. ie. 'compiz composite opengl decor move resize
place ccp'

Also, wouldn't setting COMPIZ_DEFAULT_PLUGINS in core configuration make it
so 'Reset to Defaults' in ccsmPreferences would disable all plugins except
the ones in this list?

[Bug 769043] Re: Cannot manually specify a mount point in the manual partitoner

2011-04-28 Thread soreau
For what it's worth, I have the exact same problem with natty official
release desktop live cd. This was not the case in previous releases.
Fortunately I figured out copy/paste, although cumbersome, worked.

[Bug 726908] [NEW] natty ubiquity fails to start the partitioner

2011-02-28 Thread soreau
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubiquity

/var/log/installer/version: http://sprunge.us/GbBa

This also happens when trying to use the mini.iso image to install.
What actually happens: The partitioner gets stuck and it will not start.
What I expected to happen: Partitioner to function.

Testing with latest natty images.

[Bug 700856] Re: last.fm displays plugin listener error on launch

2011-01-20 Thread soreau
I also experience this bug but only when binding XF86AudioPrev/Next to
invoke lastfm using xbindkeys. When binding to Ctrl+Shift+M for example,
it does not happen. Possible environment issue (?)

I found this link thanks to kklimonda on freenode.

[Bug 588151] Re: Compiz settings gets reset with every restart

2010-06-02 Thread soreau
This can happen for a few different reasons I can think of.

1) permissions issue
2) something interfering in startup programs
3) upgrade from 9.10 may have broke it

For 1), make sure your regular user owns everything in ~/.gonf* then set
appearance radio button to None then back again
For 2), check your startup programs
For 3), (which btw I think is the most probable even if you didn't upgrade:)

Start compiz
Close all other open windows
Navigate to SystemPreferencesStartup Applications Options tab and click
Remember Currently Running Application
Relogin; test

Hope this helps

[Bug 587716] Re: Rotate Cube with mouse scroll doesn't work after upgrade to Karmic Koala

To fix this, set ccsm-Viewport Switcher-Desktop-based Viewport
Switching-Move Next/Move Prev to Button4/5 respectively.

Hope this helps.

[Bug 587696] Re: Compiz: Moving grouped windows into another Desktops has a strange behaviour

2010-06-02 Thread soreau
Windows have a stacking order which is whaat you're demonstrating in
your video. I don't think it's a bug because each window needs to have
it's own stacking order for the window management system to work
properly. It might be possible to implement an option for windows on
same stacking levels but the code is exceedingly complicated in this
area. You can always make a post in the Ideas and Requests section of
the compiz forums where the developers look.

Hope this helps

[Bug 587693] Re: Compiz: moving grouped windows into another Desktop changes their mutual distance and position

2010-06-02 Thread soreau
This could be a bug in any loaded plugin. Try disabling all plugins with
only a minimal set and see if it's still happening. If that fixes it,
enable the plugins one by one to see which is the culprit. If disabling
all plugins doesn't fix it, the bug is likely elsewhere. Note that
ubuntu patches compiz a significant amount which means you cannot
disable some plugins like window decoration.

Hope this helps
