[Bug 55451] lan printer problem

2006-08-06 Thread spork
Public bug reported:

This report concerns an HP deskjet 3745. It is running on a seperate
ubuntu 5.10 file/printer server. All works fine directly fron the
server (print test page etc). When accessed from another machine
(ubuntu 6.06) on the lan it prints the characters "$$" and ejects the
page. Now, until a few days ago it worked fine. The only thing that
has changed since is that I've applied the various updates
automatiacally periodiclly recommended in dapper...

** Affects: Ubuntu
 Importance: Untriaged
 Status: Unconfirmed

+ This concerns specifically 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06. when falling back to
+ 1.2.0-0ubuntu5 things work normally.

[Bug 55828] Re: 1.2.0-0ubuntu5 to 1.2.2-0ubuntu0.6.06 breaks Brother HL-1440

2006-08-15 Thread spork
client = dapper ; cupsys 1.2.0
server = hoary ; cupsys_1.1.23; HP Deskjet 3745
I had been using cupsys 1.2.0 as 1.2.2 would only print "$$" when printing
anything from a client machine to the server. I set the Manufacturer: Raw and
Model: Queue as per above. This didn't print anything at all but when
re-setting the Manufacturer: HP and Model: Deskjet 3745 and upgrading to cupsys
1.2.2 on the client it worked! Very strange ...

[Bug 303595] Re: Gsynaptics loses settings on resume

2009-12-18 Thread Spork
ls -lh on that file should show a section that says -rwxr-xr-x. the x's are
what you're looking for.
sudo chmod a+x
will definitely do it.

I used:
cd /etc/pm/sleep.d/
sudo wget http://launchpadlibrarian.net/22506354/90-gsynaptics-init
chmod a+x 90-gsynaptics-init
There may be a 'better' way, but if you don't know what you're doing, this will
get it.
