[Bug 1907545] [NEW] system is unbootable after kernel upgrade when zfs native encryption enabled with zsys
Public bug reported: To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Install Ubuntu 20.10 with ZFS + native encryption in the installer Upgrade the kernel with sudo apt update && sudo apt dist-upgrade Reboot I've tried this with 20.10 + ZFS without encryption, and I can't reproduce the error. So it seems that enabling native encryption is necessary to trigger this. Expected behavior The system should boot. I can't copy the report here, since the system will not boot. I've tried to boot from previous snapshots, but that does not work either. Installed versions: OS: Ubuntu 20.10 Zsysd running version: Unknown Additional context I'm running Ubuntu inside a Hyper-V VM in UEFI mode. ** Affects: zsys (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screenshot" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1907545/+attachment/5442442/+files/101341856-d228a280-38d5-11eb-9069-e142eebbba74.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1907545 Title: system is unbootable after kernel upgrade when zfs native encryption enabled with zsys To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zsys/+bug/1907545/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 374214] Re: kded4 crashes randomly, causing logout
I uploaded the logs after logging into a gnome session immediately after a crash. If it makes a difference, I'll see if I can collect logs after logging into another KDE session following a crash (however, I'm experiencing rather more severe problems with my linux installation at the moment, so it may be awhile before I'm able to do this.) -- kded4 crashes randomly, causing logout https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/374214 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 374214] Re: kded4 crashes randomly, causing logout
I just realized what probably caused this bug, given its recent occurance. Per a workaround in bug #345542, I changed BusType to PCI in xorg.conf in order to get DRI working. [Bug 359839] Re: [rv350] DRI fails; drm module complains about agp ioremap
To check to see if your issue is similar (it's not going to be exactly the same because I have a radeon card, instead of intel), look in your dmesg (type 'dmesg' into a terminal to see this) for this line (or something similar): [ 31.423017] [drm:radeon_do_init_cp] *ERROR* could not find ioremap agp regions! I checked Xorg.0.log and that's exactly what it reports; thanks for looking it over and explaining the discrepancy. I don't really understand why it's a kernel bug, though, rather than a xserver-xorg- driver-ati bug. Would attempting a downgrade (or reinstalling) to collect log output on a working install help, since it worked for me on intrepid? -- [rv350] DRI fails; drm module complains about agp ioremap https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359839 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
