[Bug 819531] Re: Computer crash at start-up

2011-10-30 Thread stephisa41
Hi,

I tested kernel 3.1.0-999 from 24/10/2011. It seems that the problem
does not exist anymore with this version. I could restart my computer
several time without any crash at startup. However, 2 issues remain :
startup is very long long compared to 10.10 (~ 2min after grub
selection) and Nvidia drivers have not been installed (driver "not in
use" despite installed). For the driver issue, it comes maybe from the
fact that the kernel is not fully optimized. To be confirmed with the
released version.

Hi,

The problem is the same with 11.10. Did anyone found the reason for this
bug ?

[Bug 819531] Re: Computer crash at start-up

2011-08-02 Thread stephisa41
Hi,

I did some trials tonight and it seems that the problems appeared with
kernel 2.6.38. All previous ones work correctly. I tried also kernel
2.6.39.3 that I found on http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/
and I saw that the bug is still present.

[Bug 819531] [NEW] Computer crash at start-up

2011-08-01 Thread stephisa41
Public bug reported:

Hi,

Since the update from 10.10 to 11.04, my computers crashes at startup. Symptoms
are the following :
- switch PC on
- "Asus" logo display
- then screen shutdown ("no signal")
- PC restart
- message appears "Boot fail, press F1 to continue or DEL to enter BIOS"
- by pressing F1 PC restarts normally

This issue does not exist with 10.10 kernel 2.6.32.28 (tested from a USB
HDD). I tried the 3 available kernel (2.6.38-8, -10,-11), but result is
the same at each try.

It seems that I am not the only one with this kind of problem
(http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=581701, http://forum
.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?id=573951&p=2). Are you aware about this
problem ?

[Bug 595650] Re: After the last updates HP printer stopped working

2010-07-07 Thread stephisa41
Hi everybody. The downgrading to 0.1.12-14ubuntu0.1 worked also for my
PSC750. I was about to leave Ubuntu when I saw this solution. Many
thanks for the community for the help provided.

[Bug 602357] [NEW] PSC750 : unable to print (communication issue)

2010-07-06 Thread stephisa41
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I recently discovered an issue with my printer. It is not able to print
anymore although it is correctly detected by HPLIP. I got an error
message "device communication error code 5012". I was able to print no
later than last week. It seems that an upgrade has broken something
somewhere. I am under Ubuntu 10.04 with the latest updates.

I performed a hp-check -t and the result is below. It is clearly stated
that there is a communication issue, but also that "User needs to be
member of group 'lp' to enable print, scan & fax.".

What should I do ? Printer is not usable anymore. I am desesperate.
