In your hypothetical example, the cops would be pursuing the city council to rescue Murron, and your protesters would be the ones obstructing the cops because they don't have an (unnecessary) warrant to search the council gang bang chamber. In the real example, the cops were well within their authority to pursue the fleeing suspect. In general, the law is very well thought out, and deliberated over by a lot of intelligent people with a lot of experience. i often have movies above firefox that is running fullscreen on windows; i would like to be able to do this with linux, i don't mind adding the properties to windows manually to use whatever facility might exist in the future to do it, but i'd like say; "always on top" from the compiz window decorator menu to have them on top of fullscreen windows, or at least an option i can change in ccsm to say that it's ok for _ABOVE to be on top of _FULLSCREEN :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/789827 Title: always on top windows don't remain always on top when there is a fullscreen window active To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/789827/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 706436] Re: Safely remove drive is not safe for SD card readers
it's very easy to tell udev this, but you have to do it manually; i do the same to tell it what format the card reader can read, you'd need some list of major/minor versions and what they are to do this automatically, at least that's the conclusion i came to when i tried to figure out how to automate it the key word here is udev though, that is where the properties are assigned -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/706436 Title: Safely remove drive is not safe for SD card readers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/706436/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

i figured out a way to reproduce this crash! :D (and the crash you still get with the bodge) it happens when you select one of the files you just deleted, before they've left the view. to help do this i copied 30-40 mp3 albums into a separate folder, entered that folder, then picked the top 8 or so; held shift and pressed delete immediately after hitting enter to dismiss the warning dialogue i hit the down arrow key a bunch of times; if you succeed the focus will change to one of the files in the selection, with the wrong icon, and it will immediately crash thereafter turns out this is what i was doing every time i triggered the crash ;] -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/711429 Title: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_closure_invoke() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/711429/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: with 2.6.38-10 (and .39, doesn't happen with 2.6.38-9; does that mean it's a regression?) it would panic after ejecting a drive in under most circumstances, by doing cat /dev/zero > /media/junk/junkfile, killing it after a few seconds, then using "safely remove drive" in nautilus for that same drive; it will cause the panic ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: linux-image-2.6.38-10-generic 2.6.38-10.44 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-9.43-generic 2.6.38.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-9-generic x86_64 AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.23. [Bug 788382] Re: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc() when ejecting drive
i couldn't figure out how to get nautilus to keep from spawning, i copied the autostart .desktop to .local/share/applications and changed it to not autostart but apparently that didn't override the main one; i also tried nautilus -q, and searching for whatever gconf keys are restarting it, to no avail; pedro, if you know or know where i can ask someone (i already asked on #nautilus on gimpnet, not many people around) i'd appreciate it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/788382 Title: nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slice_alloc() when ejecting drive -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

as i said in the initial message, they changed the meaning of a "default mail client" to suit the contact/presence menu, if desktop-webmail is going to return it probably needs to be able to compose directly and start a client with a message, as that's all the other mailers require to show up on that menu, as of the last time i used it it just handled mailto: which was an implicit compose ** Description changed: Binary package hint: desktop-webmail as in title, i filed a bug earlier about it not working with indicator- message before; it seems their solution was to change the wording in the "preferred applications" applet, so compose only mailers do not literally fit into either role. i use web mail exclusively and would like to use it in its proper role in the indicator-message menu and as a desktop mime handler for email: + + but i'm referring to above: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source + /indicator-messages/+bug/429569 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: desktop-webmail 002-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.41-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Apr 7 23:09:13 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release amd64 (20101007) ProcEnviron: - LANGUAGE=en_US:en - LANG=en_US.UTF-8 - SHELL=/bin/bash + LANGUAGE=en_US:en + LANG=en_US.UTF-8 + SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: desktop-webmail UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-03-17 (21 days ago) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/754321 Title: can no longer be selected as default mail application -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz first off i really resent the post release belittling from apport when you use ubuntu-bug; i do not want to talk to one person that doesn't know what i'm talking about when i report a bug, nevermind thousands, OR a forum. on to the bug, as stated in the title, easily reproduced here with firefox; create new profile, hit f11 to go fullscreen, then close it without removing fullscreen, and restart it expected: compiz to "know" of the window in the switcher and the scale plugins, and elsewhere after a restart with it in fullscreen, like it knows of it before and after f11, before restarting it got: untracked windows PS: please make apport less patronizing for people who might know why they are running ubuntu-bug, i had to "lie" just to get it it to continue ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: [core, crashhandler, composite, opengl, compiztoolbox, imgjpeg, decor, neg, mousepoll, move, resize, regex, imgpng, grid, text, extrawm, copytex, shift, obs, animation, dbus, put, commands, resizeinfo, place, gnomecompat, imgsvg, workarounds, session, wobbly, notification, cube, rotate, scale, expo, scaleaddon, ezoom, staticswitcher] CompositorRunning: compiz DRM.card0.DP.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.DP.2: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.HDMI.A.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: DRM.card0.LVDS.1: status: connected enabled: enabled dpms: On modes: 1366x768 edid-base64: AP///wBMo1E0AAASAQOAIhN4Cof1lFdPjCcnUFQBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBAQEBEhtWclAADDAwICUAWMIQAAAZDwAAAB60AnQA/gBTQU1TVU5HCiAgICAg/gAxNTZBVDAxLUgwMQogABs= DRM.card0.VGA.1: status: disconnected enabled: disabled dpms: Off modes: edid-base64: Date: Sat Apr 30 23:05:05 2011 DistUpgraded: Log time: 2011-03-17 02:39:21.770457 DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:2a42] (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:360b] Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:360b] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release amd64 (20101007) InstallationMedia_: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release amd64 (20101007) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US:en PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.38-8-generic root=UUID=d332acb1-e554-4637-84fe-731b5e39212b ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 ProcVersionSignature_: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.42-generic 2.6.38.2 Renderer: Unknown SourcePackage: compiz UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to natty on 2011-03-17 (44 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 12/15/2010 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: F.65 dmi.board.asset.tag: Base Board Asset Tag dmi.board.name: 3612 dmi.board.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.board.version: 09.67 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: Chassis Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.chassis.version: Chassis Version dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnHewlett-Packard:bvrF.65:bd12/15/2010:svnHewlett-Packard:pnCompaqPresarioCQ60NotebookPC:pvrPCID:rvnHewlett-Packard:rn3612:rvr09.67:cvnHewlett-Packard:ct10:cvrChassisVersion: dmi.product.name: Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC dmi.product.version: PCID dmi.sys.vendor: Hewlett-Packard version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.4+bzr20110415-0ubuntu2 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs 20090808ubuntu13 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.23-1ubuntu6 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 7.10.2-0ubuntu2 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 7.10.2-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg: xserver-xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati N/A version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7.1 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau N/A ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug compiz-0.9 natty ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774651 Title: windows initially mapped with the fullscreen property are never "seen" by compiz -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 740756] Re: dragging files/folders onto launcher icons no longer works (classic desktop)
i need to learn to be less hyperbolic, i thought someone actually removed the functionality at the time :D but, it has to do with compiz, i don't know how; but, it works for a while, then stops working (like it doesn't know what the cursor is over, aside from the outer window), it works again for a while after compiz --replace -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/740756 Title: dragging files/folders onto launcher icons no longer works (classic desktop) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 765248] Re: patch to add proxy support from 2.12 to 2.13
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 713604 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/713604 my main issue was there was no public discussion; there was a trac post that seemed to invite public discussion, then a second post that confirmed the original post-hoc, there was no public discussion and it is pretty plain that someone just decided they didn't like it and removed it, which is fine; you're well within your means and ability to do so, but i don't need a passive aggressive act, admit that there was no intention for public input instead of dismissing my input out of hand. even being, gasp; rude about it. here's the full log for anyone wanting to join the pity party; http://lez.ath.cx/~ohsix/transmission-proxy-support.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/765248 Title: patch to add proxy support from 2.12 to 2.13 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
