[Bug 1733578] Re: “Welcome” step still says “directly from this CD”
Would it be appropriate to change it to "You can try ${RELEASE} without making any changes to your computer, directly from this installer." That would cover odd use cases such as virtual drives, as well as USB, external hard drives, etc. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1733578 Title: “Welcome” step still says “directly from this CD” To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1733578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Yes it did relate to the scanning application, which was downloaded from software centre. [Bug 206014] Re: MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC on Notebook Notebook LG LE50
I have the Dell dimension C521 and am running Feisty 7.04 I get the same message at startup MP-BIOS bug 8254 timer not connected and I used to get a kernel panic message as well telling me to try the noapic kernel parameter, I don't get that bit of the message any more since I updated the kernel but now when I start up I get the grub loading page then a flashing curser and at the bottom a kernel alive message but it goes no further, I switch the machine off and try again, after three attempts it says MP-bios bug 8254 etc... then loading and Ubuntu starts up but it's always three attempts before it will load !! How do I choose 'noapic' and will it solve the problem?
