[Bug 1733578] Re: “Welcome” step still says “directly from this CD”

2021-04-13 Thread Sue Hartland
Would it be appropriate to change it to "You can try ${RELEASE} without
making any changes to your computer, directly from this installer."

That would cover odd use cases such as virtual drives, as well as USB,
external hard drives, etc.

Re: [Bug 603845] Re: AcquireImages Froze

2010-09-07 Thread Sue Pascoe
Yes it did relate to the scanning application, which was downloaded from
software centre.

I am not familiar with the bug reporting process, but thought if I reported
to someone, the problem may be fixed sooner...

Status in “software-center” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete

 Bug description:
 Binary package hint: software-center

Using Latest release of Ubuntu - and have updated yesterday.

 Using AcquireImages for first time.

Had set scanning resolution too high. Was taking too long to scan.

Tried to stop scanning process (60% complete). Program froze at this point,
although the scanner had been reset by program. Could not use program. Could
 not close.

Will go back to using XSane. Quicker. More Stable. More scanning options.

Especially I could not establish any connection of course. nm-applet doesn't

Using Ubuntu 10.04.

Attached you find the following outputs.

nm-tool nm_tool.out

cat /var/log/syslog syslog
cat /var/log/kern.log kern.log

[Bug 555155] Re: depency conflict with libgjs0 and xulrunner

2010-07-05 Thread Sue Ori
I also still have the issue. 64bit version 10.04.
Gnome-shell stopped working after standard daily update... :(
Trying to install gnome-shell gives back the dependency error for libgjs0.
Trying to install that libgjs0 package refers to the xulrunner error.
Die folgenden Pakete haben nicht-erfüllte Abhängigkeiten:
  libgjs0: Hängt ab: xulrunner-1.9.2 (= 1.9.2.4~) aber
1.9.2.6+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 soll installiert werden

Still not solved...

[Bug 206014] Re: MP-BIOS bug: 8254 timer not connected to IO-APIC on Notebook Notebook LG LE50

2008-09-21 Thread sue bickley
I have the Dell dimension C521 and am running Feisty 7.04 I get the same
message at startup MP-BIOS bug 8254 timer not connected and I used to
get a kernel panic message as well telling me to try the noapic kernel
parameter, I don't get that bit of the message any more since I updated
the kernel but now when I start up I get the grub loading page then a
flashing curser and at the bottom a kernel alive message but it goes no
further, I switch the machine off and try again, after three attempts it
says MP-bios bug 8254 etc... then loading and Ubuntu starts up but it's
always three attempts before it will load !! How do I choose 'noapic'
and will it solve the problem? I see that the last post on this one was
July, so maybe there is a fix, if so please could somebody direct me to
it?
