It also works with the 2.6.37 kernel so, I'm not sure it's related to the gnome-bluetooth. [Bug 533224] Re: fan speed issue in 195.36.08 and 195.36.03 (may potentially destroy the GPU)
No the driver available in Lucid repositories is still the 195.36.08. As soon as the packages will be updated to 195.36.15 available here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=148947 , this bug report should be marked as fixed but not now. I think Ubuntu can't release a LTS with a bug like this. (Easy to fix now). Nouveau is an alternative for some users but as it doesn't support 3D acceleration, for a lot of users it's not a good alternative. -- fan speed issue in 195.36.08 and 195.36.03 (may potentially destroy the GPU) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/533224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 533224] Re: fan speed issue in 195.36.08 and 195.36.03
>From http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/announcement.php?f=14 : After posting the 196.75 NVIDIA Windows graphics driver, NVIDIA reported the following message: Quote: We are aware that some customers have reported fan speed issues with the latest 196.75 WHQL drivers on NVIDIA.com. Until we can verify and root cause this issue, we recommend that customers stay with, or return to 196.21 WHQL drivers. Release 196.75 drivers have been temporarily removed from our website. /Quote We believe recent NVIDIA UNIX graphics drivers, 195.36.08 and 195.36.03, are also affected by this. Until the problem is resolved, we recommend that UNIX users revert to the 190.53 web release or the 195.30 public beta. We are in the process of removing 195.36.08 and 195.36.03 from NVIDIA's FTP site. We will post more information as it is available. -- fan speed issue in 195.36.08 and 195.36.03 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/533224 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
