[Bug 868311] Re: Screenlets doesn't remember the correct workspace on restart
Maybe you can make a generic DummyScreenletNN.py (or whatever name you need) calling to WhateverScreenlet.py, because it's good NOT to have many of the same actual screenlets in system. I think, it would cause trouble when updating a screenlet version and/or render modifying the screenlet code very obscure. What about starting screenlet from command prompt, will your planned changes apply to this situation too? I remember that there is some python (or c) module to change file name/identifier when the file is running. I don't remember the name of the module now (and I don't know if this will work for Compiz plugins), but this might be usable for implementing your idea. [Bug 840199] [NEW] Firefox does not render two images on my page
Public bug reported: Basically I have added number of images on my page, and Firefox does not render two of them. The pattern of including the images on the page is exactly the same, images exist on server (Firefox shows them, when I click on link), Midori renders everything all right and I have no clue, why it is so. I attached the HTML file. Even if you do not have the images present, the ALT links are not rendered, so you don't need actual images for testing. Testing the bug a bit, it seems that x60 part in septembris- 468x60.png is the culprit. If I replace the x with , or xx or z everything works. If I replace the x with _ it's still broken. [Bug 820881] Re: [i945] Heavy screen and font corruption on GMA950
It seems the bug appears only when more than one users are simultaneously logged into the system. At least logging into system one user at time seems to help a lot in avoiding the bug. This may also be the reason why bug is not common for most users and not so easily detected (according to counter.li.org 41.67% of Linux users have only one account in their system). It also seems that bug resolves when I log all the users out and start a new session in the situation where no users are logged in. This is even a bit strange, because the screen is corrupt even in gdm login screen, which should not depend on running sessions as I (maybe incorrectly) presume. I'm surprised that this kind of basic desktop usability bug with that long history is marked incomplete and yes, the bug is still there in Natty Narwhal. The bug appears for me when I right click on window title and from window menu choose to move window to another workspace. Right click on the title of non-focused window 3. Choose Move to another workspace and select workspace by number The window does not move to selected workspace. Window buttons are a small exception which is quite hard to notice, but this was also reported in the original bug report on i915. I believe these reports belong together, because they both consist of similar defects (extra vertical lines on small sprites). Or do you suppose there should be also separate bug report on window buttons for i915? [Bug 745608] Re: [915GM] font corruption on Intel GMA900
I installed the update package 2:2.14.0-4ubuntu7.2 from natty-proposed and it seems to make things better. At least on my laptop (915/910) I haven't noticed corruption since upgrading the package (but this may change in time, I cannot be sure). But it's different on my desktop (945), where the new package probably reduces the problem, but it still appears in previous form after some time. When I set Tiling=false it reduces corruption a lot, but there still appears some like before. Although I did notice it only in Ubuntu menu bar (submenus were fine). When I set DebugWait=true instead of Tiling=false, some of the games started doing a lot of hiccups and were practically unusable (I tried teeworlds from GetDeb). Some corruption appeared but was very episodical, by now I have noticed it only on GDM logon background image. I'd say, for me Tiling=false seemed a better workaround, because it didn't ruin the gaming experience and I didn't notice too much slowing down. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/745608 Title: [915GM] font corruption on Intel GMA900 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/745608/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 807763] [NEW] Smart card reader not recognized/udev rules not updated after installing CCID
Public bug reported: If I install the packages pcscd libccid opensc and connect (or reconnect several times) my smart card reader, it is not recognized by opensc-tool. It is recognized only after I run udevadm control --reload-rules and reconnect my reader. Running udevadm can be substituted by rebooting Ubuntu. I expect that the reader should be available either right after installing the packages or at least after reconnecting the reader. Rebooting or running udevadm seems a step back from previous versions in Ubuntu, where reader was immediately recognized. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 and the versions of packages from default repositories. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit When I have more than one file open in Gedit and I switch between files either using tabs or keys, the filename on window title bar refreshes to a new value not right after switching, but much later. It seems that the refresh occurs only if I switch to a new file again, so that I see always the name of previously edited file in window title. [Bug 747810] Re: inconsistent naming for screenlets
Starting Screenlets from the dash will actually start two programs: Screenlets Daemon and Screenlets Manager. If you close Screenlets Manager, daemon still keeps running. So you shouldn't think that names Screenlets and Screenlets Manager are inconsistent. The first one names the whole Screenlets framework on user's system. The second one names the manager for Screenlets, which is started to indicate to user, that Screenlets framework is running and waiting for orders. If you choose Quit Screenlets from appindicator/tray menu, Screenlets Manager and Screenlets Daemon both and all the individual screenlets are terminated. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747810 Title: inconsistent naming for screenlets -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 765888] [NEW] Invalidate rect/process update causes flicker for Cairo drawn content
Public bug reported: Screenlets (which are Cairo drawn widgets in an undecorated GTK window) started to flicker in Natty from early alphas and are still flickering in latest beta. It seems that invalidating GTK window causes the window to go blank for a moment and then redraw its contents. Anyway the result is hard flickering in some cases and more gentle flickering in other cases. The same code works without any flickering in Maverick. [Bug 765962] [NEW] Repainting a widget causes Cairo drawn window background content to disappear
Public bug reported: Screenlets (which are Cairo drawn widgets in an undecorated GTK window) include some cases where there is GTK widget on Cairo-drawn background. One example is Lipik sticky notes screenlet for which the background is an SVG image and foreground is coloured GTK Textview widget. At start the widget is painted on SVG background all right, but writing something into the Textview makes the GTK window on background go blank and lose the Cairo drawn decorations. It also seems that this happens only when the line written into Textview is longer than the lines already contained in it (if the right margin needs to be extended, the window on the background is blanked). The behaviour started in Natty from early alphas and is still there in latest beta. The same code works without any problems in Maverick.
