[Bug 1529150] Re: light-locker: desktop visible after resume from suspend

2016-03-28 Thread tbys
I think this need to be set to importance: High, as it allows a
malicious user to see any information displayed on the desktop without
logging in.

[Bug 481656] Re: iBus blocks input in Java application

2014-05-15 Thread tbys
I am still seeing this problem in 14.04, or at least a problem which is
very similar. I've had this problem for several years now using the
Rubymine IDE (which is built on Java). I used to be able to restart ibus
from the notification panel icon, but apparently that option has been
removed :/ But fortunately ibus can be restarted from the command line
now with ibus restart.

[Bug 1240004] Re: Keyboard layout won't change when using Japanese IME

2014-05-07 Thread tbys
I am having what I believe is the same problem as Guill-Muller.

I have the following entries in input sources to use:

Japanese
Danish
Japanese (mozc)

When I switch to mozc the keyboard layout remains unchanged. So if I
switch from danish to mozc then I get mozc with danish keyboard layout.
What I expect is that mozc has it's own keyboard layout setting or at
least defaults to japanese keyboard layout.

[Bug 1072518] [NEW] Restarting network crashes (apparently) the desktop manager

2012-10-28 Thread tbys
Public bug reported:

The unity UI and windows decorations dissappear when I do one of the
following:

sudo restart networking

or

sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart.

This renders me unable to focus any of the open windows with
mouse/keyboard, leaving the system unusable. I have to drop to terminal
(CTRL-ALT-F2) and do a sudo reboot.

I am not sure what parts of the desktop are going down, so I posted this
bug under ubuntu-desktop. I'd be happy to follow up with more
information as needed.

[Bug 1071138] Re: Unable to connect to OpenVPN endpoint

2012-10-28 Thread tbys
** Description changed:

  Hello,

I am facing some problems getting OpenVPN working through NetworkManager
on Ubuntu 12.10. I am able to connect when using the 'regular' OpenVPN
client and a config file, but not through NM with a similar config. From
my investigations so far, it seems that the
/sys/devices/virtual/net/tap0 device doesn't get created, but I am
unable to work out why that is happening. I tried putting apparmor into
complain mode to make sure it wasn't a problem with that. I pasted what
I believe is the relevant part of syslog below (edited out identifiable
information). Can anyone help me with some pointers as to how to
  troubleshoot this?

[Bug 1071138] Re: Unable to connect to OpenVPN endpoint

2012-10-27 Thread tbys
Indeed it looks very similar. As far as I can tell with my limited
knowledge, the problem is that the openvpn plugin helper fails to set up
the tap0 device. It is possible that I could make things work for myself
by adding tap0 to /etc/network/interfaces, but as the poster of #777864
mentions, it seems like network manager should be able to do this for
me.

[Bug 1071138] Re: Unable to connect to OpenVPN endpoint

2012-10-27 Thread tbys
Adding

auto tap0
iface tap0 inet dhcp

to /etc/network/interfaces causes startup to pause 60 second for
network.

If I add tap0 using
sudo ip tuntap add mode tap tap0
then nm-openvpn tries to configure a new tap device (tap1)

Also, I tried disabling tap in the nm-openvpn config, and the same thing
happens for tun0

[Bug 1071138] [NEW] Unable to connect to OpenVPN endpoint

2012-10-24 Thread tbys
Public bug reported:

Best Regards
