I upgraded my gutsy machine to the release candidate of hardy today. Thereby a few scim-* packages got installed which brought the described behaviour to my system. Most applications became nearly unusable, e.g. konsole. Also various dialogs in the mythtv application showed the mentioned behaviour. I fixed the issue for me by purging all scim-* packages that got installed due to the upgrade. As the release candidate already contains libx11 (2:1.1.3-1ubuntu2) I doubt that the issue is already completely fixed. [Bug 102385] Re: netgear wg311v2 (acx chipset) using ndiswrapper 1.9 and wpa supllicant fails to associate with access point.
I gave current ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 and wpasupplicant packages from gutsy a try but had no luck. Still the same issue, pairing needs endless tries till it succeeds. I set the pairwise cipher to TKIP as described on the mailing list but pairing takes up to 100 attempts until success.
