[Bug 299340] [NEW] Evnice is missing keyboard shortcuts to navigate between form fields

2008-11-17 Thread trjonescp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evince

There is no easy way to navigate between form fields in a PDF document.
This can be particularly frustrating with forms that have a separate
text entry for each individual character. I think [Tab] makes the most
sense. The current behavior of [Tab] is not very useful at all.

If Evince could detect single character form fields and automatically
advance to the next field (a-la Adobe Reader) that would be ideal.

Using Ubuntu 8.10, Evince 2.24.1

[Bug 279440] [NEW] f-spot crashes when importing a particular photo

2008-10-06 Thread trjonescp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: f-spot

Using Ubuntu Intrepid (devel branch). Using F-Spot 0.4.4.

When I import the attached photo to f-spot it shows up briefly then
F-Spot crashes. When I re-open f-spot, it immediately crashes. I have to
manually delete the photo that was imported into my f-spot Photo
directory (along with a some other random 0 byte file) for it to work.
Also attached a transcript of the session with --debug when F-Spot
crashes.

[Bug 254519] Re: Feature enhancement: When Ctrl+Scroll zooming, include Page Width, Fit Page

2008-09-13 Thread trjonescp
Forgive me; the behavior I'm trying to describe is a bit nuanced, but I
think it is important to the end users' experience. I'll try again to
explain it.

Like most applications that support zooming, Evince allows me to hold
Control while I scroll my mouse wheel and the document zooms in and out.
What Evince does NOT do, however is Fit Width or Fit Page as you
scroll. For example, if I'm currently at a zoom factor of 125 and the
page does not quite reach the edges of the canvas, I will scroll zoom
to make the document bigger. But Evince just jumps the zoom factor up to
the next fixed increment, 150, which causes the document to run off the
sides of the canvas. I think Evince should be smart enough to zoom to
Fit Width if that zoom factor falls between the current zoom level and
the next fixed zoom level (125 and 150 in the example I gave). If this
bug is still not clear, please try to ask what, specifically, is
unclear.

[Bug 254519] [NEW] Feature enhancement: When Ctrl+Scroll zooming, include Page Width, Fit Page

2008-08-03 Thread trjonescp

Binary package hint: evince

Currently evince will scroll up and down through the following zoom
factors:

50
70
85
100
125
150
...

I think it would be very useful if it included fit to width and fit
to page zoom factors in the lists as well. So the zoom factors that are
scrolled through might be:

50
70
85
92 -- Example zoom factor corresponding to Fit Page
100
125
141 -- Example zoom factor corresponding to Fit Width
150
...

[Bug 207065] Re: Bad Compiz Bindings Bug

2008-06-27 Thread trjonescp
I believe the behavior I am seeing falls under this bug. I am running
8.04 with all latest updates.

I went to edit the Bindings for the Resize Window plugin, and changed
the Initiate Window Resize for both the mouse and keyboard to Disabled.
However after I changed the mouse binding suddenly the state of my Alt
key was toggled for all my X11 applications (e.g. when I left clicked
in Nautilus, it thought I was Altleft clicking, and when I held down
alt and left clicked it thought I was just left clicking)

Going back and investigating, it seems that ccsm is not remembering the
Disabled configuration for the mouse binding. It seems to take it at
first but when I go back to the plugin list and then come back to the
Resize Window settings, I see that it has been changed to Button 2.
I've given up on disabling it for now and have just put it back to the
default AltButton 2

Yes. Scan - PDF does NOT work (intermittent), but Scan - PNM -
Import Image - PDF DOES work (seems to be consistent).

I just realized that the --debug output I captured and posted earlier

[Bug 204988] Re: gscan2pdf generates blank pages in the .pdf output

I never use the downsample option, but I would guess the root problem is
related to my issue.

Here is an example of a blank pdf out (all six pages) using PNG

I'm sorry. I meant to say 7.10. I have never actually tried using
gscan2pdf with Ubuntu 7.04.

[Bug 204988] [NEW] gscan2pdf generates blank pages in the .pdf output

2008-03-22 Thread trjonescp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gscan2pdf

gscan2pdf-0.9.21 will some generate blank pdf pages where there should
be a scanned page.

Steps to reproduce:

(1) Scan a few pages into gscan2pdf
(2) See that pages scanned in and looking good
(3) Now choose Save as PDF button
(4) Chose any form of compression other that None
(5) Open the generated PDF with evince or acroread and some pages may be blank

This is intermittent -- Sometimes I will scan the exact same pages and
go through the same process over again and it will work.

Now that I have upgraded to 8.04 beta it seems to will always work when
I choose Compression: None. Before, with 7.04, it would never give
blank pages with the None option, but sometimes the output from my
black and white scan would be inverted (e.g. the page was black and the
text was white)

[Bug 202621] [NEW] disk usage analyzer does not update Total filesystem capacity information when clicking refresh

2008-03-15 Thread trjonescp
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: baobab

Disk Usage Analyzer does not update the top status line Total
filesystem capacity: xx (Used: xx Available xx) when you click Refresh.

Steps to reproduce:
Open baobab
Click Scan Filesystem, wait for it to finsh
Go delete/add some files
Click Refresh in baobab
Used/Available numbers have not changed.

I think these numbers should actually just be updated in real time
without even having to click refresh or to rescan your filesystem
