[Bug 107103] Re: Allow user to suppress individual fields when sending a report

2009-03-01 Thread tronicum
I had a similar problem with a information reported by apport
"HalComputerInfo.txt".

It contained my Laptops serial/service tag. Such information should not
be publish as it allows you to get support from your manufacturer and
identify you by that unqiue entity (or if you are more evil, report it
as stolen, register it as your device, and so on).

That field within that file should not be reported at all (device
serial).

[Bug 336464] Re: [LENOVO 6460DBG] hibernate/resume failure [non-free: nvidia]

2009-03-01 Thread tronicum
BTW, I removed the HAL document which contained my Laptops serial/service tags.
That part of the automatic bug report tools sucks really big time to include
such information.

Everybody with a DELL, Lenovo, etc. that reports bugs that way include a
personal, unqiue identifier that also allows anyone to call the support
and might request services from that.

[Bug 207598] Re: GTK2 Open File Dialog causes crash

2008-04-23 Thread tronicum
I had, but it seems valgrind does not follow processes called by a shell
script. As firefox is launched by such, it did follow.

I made a new log by calling /usr/lib/firefox-3.0b4/firefox via valgrind
(see attachment)

[Bug 97321] fontconfig configfile location is hardcoded to a user directoy

2007-03-28 Thread tronicum
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: fontconfig

I upgraded from edgy to feisty. fontconfig
(fontconfig2.4.2-1ubuntu1_i386) complains about a missing config file :

output of fc-cache

Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file
fc-cache: symbol lookup error: fc-cache: undefined symbol: FcDirCacheLoad

I did run a strace on it and it pointed to a odd user directory

access("/home/torri/local/etc/fonts/fonts.conf", R_OK) = -1 ENOENT (No such
file or directory)
write(2, "Fontconfig error: ", 18Fontconfig error: ) = 18
write(2, "Cannot load default config file", 31Cannot load default config file)
= 31

On my system is no user named torri.

the ugly hack

mkdir -p /home/torri/local/etc/fonts/
ln -s /etc/fonts/fonts.conf /home/torri/local/etc/fonts/

removed the missing config line but introduced a new complain

Fontconfig warning: line 32: unknown element "cachedir"

[Bug 69793] swapon refuses with error "Invalid argument"

2006-11-01 Thread tronicum
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mount

I upgraded from (k)ubuntu dapper to edgy. Everything works fine but swap
does not get activated at boot time. If I issue :

swapon -a

I get

swapon: /dev/disk/by-uuid/8d4f6018-0339-X-a63f-2d8cf45f5f1c: Invalid
argument

If I use swapon /dev/hda7 I get the same error.

After using mkswap /dev/hda7 I can enable it with swapon but it won´t
activate the swap space after reboot (I changed fstab to the new
volumeid).

Any ideas what kind of problem that is?
