[Bug 1866870] Re: KVM Guest pauses after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04

2020-03-23 Thread tstrike
I can confirm that this bug has been fixed (zapped). Thank you all for
your hard work and determination. A job well done indeed! As a former
programmer I love you all's zeal for attacking this bug.

As a side note, knowing what you all go through, I always look things
up, walk through at least level 1 stuff and provide logfiles. I hope
what little I did, help you all resolve this.

Again my thanks, and I believe is this is where we say, "Please close
the bug marked SOLVED".

[Bug 1866870] Re: KVM Guest pauses after upgrade to Ubuntu 20.04

2020-03-12 Thread tstrike
This particular command seems to hang on:

qemu-system-x86_64: warning: host doesn't support requested feature:
CPUID.01H:ECX.vmx [bit 5]
qemu-system-x86_64: warning: host doesn't support requested feature:
CPUID.8001H:ECX.svm [bit 2]

I tried to execute (thinking I was in a shell):

{"execute":"qmp_capabilities"}
{"execute":"query-cpu-definitions"}

I might have misinterpreted what you wanted me to do.

root@islandhealthcenter-media:/var/log/libvirt# kvm -version
QEMU emulator version 2.11.1(Debian 1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu4)

root@islandhealthcenter-media:/var/log/libvirt# lsmod | grep kvm
kvm   593920  0

Seems like when the Domain is called up to run the Check KVM isnt working or I
do not seem the right version to get libvirt guest going.

[Bug 1756951] Re: KVM guests do not start up

2018-03-20 Thread tstrike
So looking at this, it seems to bomb out when trying to launch a defined
domain Obviously it doesnt seem to see the qemu-kvm module despite:

root@islandhealthcenter-media:/var/log/libvirt# lsmod | grep kvm
kvm   593920  0
irqbypass  16384  1 kvm

Here is the version of KVM:
root@islandhealthcenter-media:/var/log/libvirt# kvm -version
QEMU emulator version 2.11.1(Debian 1:2.11+dfsg-1ubuntu4)
Copyright (c) 2003-2017 Fabrice Bellard and the QEMU Project developers

[Bug 1756951] Re: KVM guests do not start up

2018-03-20 Thread tstrike
This is so bizarre. VT is turned on...

I even did a reinstall of kvm via:

$ sudo apt -y --reinstall install qemu-kvm

Did my latest upgrade screw up my libraries??? I just noticed I am on
the dev branch of 18.04 dunno if I can roll back.

[Bug 1201947] Re: unity-panel-service crashed with signal 5 in g_type_create_instance() from bamf_matcher_get_default()

2015-10-23 Thread tstrike
This bug is driving me crazy!! Makes it scary to reboot... Sometimes
when you reboot, the system gets stuck meaning you have to do a hardware
reboot (battery pull) and forcing a fsck.

*sigh*
