I had the same symptoms as Matt, I haven't had a chance to check the syslog messages yet to see if it is exactly the same. To cheekily repeat my question on the forum thread for this bug it says that the milestone for this is Ubuntu karmic-updates which has an expected date of 2011-04-09!
