[Bug 584183] Re: Evolution crashes almost randomly
Hi, for several reasons I can't do any more testing for the next weeks, so to complete this bug report I'm posting my full and huge valgrind log. It's full of invalid read, so I think it should be helpful. The uncompressed file size is more than 400 MB, check the available space before expanding it. ** Attachment added: valgrind.log.tar.gz http://launchpadlibrarian.net/51333825/valgrind.log.tar.gz -- Evolution crashes almost randomly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/584183 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 387562] Re: OOo F11 key brings up Style and Formatting instead of Full Screen
Well, it's just an opinion of course, but one ot the first things I've done after installing Lucid is restoring the F11 behaviour in OOo (i.e. opening the style and format window). I work a lot with OOo on different operating systems, and Ubuntu is the only one interpreting F11 in a more abstract and system-wide way. I don't think that changing the default key for such a frequent use functionality on such an heavy piece of software (we're not talking about a media player, but about a software that people actually use to work) is a good idea. We should start being worried about people already working with Ubuntu and OOo, not just about first-time users with no pc experience at all, shouldn't we? -- OOo F11 key brings up Style and Formatting instead of Full Screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/387562 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 584183] Re: Evolution crashes almost randomly
For the maintainers: after about 80 hours Evolution refuses to crash, valgrind log has grown 185 MB, and I'm starting tobe afraid that waiting more would be useless. Perhaps valgrind is correcting the problem while controlling the program, so I will not get a crash anymore. However, What to do now? I can try to compress the log file and see if the result will be lighter enough to be posted here, but I doubt it. I can close Evolution, trow the log file and start everything again with the option suggested by Sebastien, hoping that I will get a crash this time. [Bug 584183] [NEW] Evolution crashes almost randomly

Please wait, I just understood where the problem is. What's the first thing I do when I first start Firefox? I setup al the privacy tab settings to not keeping history because I hate it. For example, the Italian tanslation for the related hint on Evolution souds like Marks the slected messages for deletion... Not exactly as simple and clear as Delete the selected messages. So confusing icon and confusing text... I'm not exactly an inexperienced user, and at first my favourite solution was to hit the del key on the keyboard, just because I knew what it was doing... -- Humanity delete icon use the wrong concept https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/452149 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 407621] Re: (design decision) Icons missing from context menu , dialogue buttons , firefox bookmark favicons, system menu
Reading comments here is clear enough that a lot of users (including me) saw the missing icons as a bug. Guidelines are good tools to give consistency, but we should also concentrate on *what* we perceive as consistent. A main menu with tree items, where the indentation clearly shows that something is missing on a number of menu items is just inconsistent. To the end user the theory of item and non-item menu object is just a technical aspect, what he/she can see is an inconsistent looking menu. -- (design decision) Icons missing from context menu , dialogue buttons , firefox bookmark favicons, system menu https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/407621 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 468011] [NEW] Bookmarks icons are not refreshed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox-3.5 Hi, just updated to Karmic. I imported all of my bookmarks in the new Firefox 3.5, and to my surprise I noticed than when i load a bookmarked page the program refuse to update/refresh the tiny bookmark icon, leaving the default web link one. It's strange, because I also use Firefox 3.5 on a Windows machine at work, and this problem doesn't exists there. I can post an image if you need it. I think that this bug is quite annoying, because I work with lots of bookmarks and the icons are very useful to find the needed one quickly, now they all have the same icon, a bit confusing. [Bug 466229] [NEW] Installer doens't remove grub
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: live-installer Hi, I've got a machine with both Windows XP and Ubuntu 9.04 installed. I decided to upgrade to 9.10 and to get rid of Windws completely, so I checked the use whole space disk option on the installer. Something went wrong, because after rebooting GRUB gave me some error messages (first time it tolds me that it can't load the partitions informations, and after cleaning the partitions with Gparted and doing again the install process it prompted me with a menu, but it doesn't load the OS in any case). I'm trying again now, deleting the MBR and doing everything another time, but for a first time user it would be a nightmare experience. [Bug 466229] Re: Installer doens't remove grub
Well, it seems that the problem is related to the default allocation of partitions created if the BIOS is not 48-bit LBA capable and the HD is big enough. For me the solution was setting up a small primary partition at the drive beginning and mounting it as /boot, then using an extended partition and creating swap and / logical partitions inside it. [Bug 466829] [NEW] Missing gnome menu icons
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: human-icon-theme Hi, just finished a fresh Kramik setup on an old laptop. I found quite strange that the icons from the System menu on the GNOME upper panel are all missing (the icons on the submenus are showing instead). The last three icons on the resource menu are missing too here. Also, just like on the Humanity icons theme, the icon that should stands for remove an item appears similar to a no entry sign, you can see that, for example, on Evolution toolbar, just right of the print button, or on Empathy, going on the account list window, near every account (shoul be an icon that suggest you are trashing an item, but that sign is not clear at all) Best regards ** Affects: human-icon-theme (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Missing gnome menu icons https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/466829 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 76207] Re: incomplete synchronisation between evolution and palm z22
When trying to sync a Treo 680 with Evolution Address book all the birthdays are not transferred form the device to Evolution, the same happens with the anniversary field. [Bug 392654] [NEW] Missing icon on wi-fi connection notification (with Clearlooks theme)
Public bug reported: When I connect to my wireless network I get a nice notification if I use the Human theme, however I actually prefer the Clearlooks theme and I find it better than any other one (I find it nicer and I also think it works a bit better) and when I use it the connection notification shows no icon at all (it shows just the dark box with text only). When disconnecting the icon is there, instead. See the attached image for better explaination.
