[Bug 530277] Re: 0cf2:6250 ENE Technology, Inc. card reader not supported

2010-12-25 Thread van Stappen
Hello and merry xmas.
I have installed 10.10 and kernel v2.6.37-rc7.
The ene cards drivers works perfectly and wifi also but plymouth (splash prog)
does not work and have problems with amarcor.
OK it has nothing to do with ene drivers, only to notice that kernel
v2.6.37-rc7 is not fully ready.
Is it a plan to include that driver in a new kernel 10.10 ?
Thanks

[Bug 530277] Re: 0cf2:6250 ENE Technology, Inc. card reader not supported

2010-12-23 Thread Fred van Stappen
@Svernerl
Thanks for your answers. I have tried with rc 7 and the ene cards drivers are
also working perfectly.
But the wifi does not work. Even with a lan connection to internet and
updating, i get errors messages.
I think that the best way is to upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10 and then install
rc7.
And like you know, it is a big work (i do not want to upgrade but to install a
brand new 10.10. That means backup, reinstall software, etc..).
OK, i will do it.
Thanks

2010-12-22 Thread Fred van Stappen
Re-hello.
I have tried the svenerl way and install the kernel 2.6.37 on my ubuntu 10.04
LTS system.
Now i can read, mount, unmount sd cards perfectly but... i dont have access to
wifi anymore.
Maybe i must do a update via lan for the wifi drivesr (but i dont have lan
access now).
So im back to old kernel.
By the way big congratulations for that ene card drivers, it seems to works
well, thanks, nice job.

Hello Alexandre
Im sure WIFI gonna work with 10.10 but only if i update it after installation
from USB stick, via Lan cable (lan drivers works in 10.10 after install).
But i don't have access to Internet via lan-cable now.

"I found this: http://art.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1592383 ."

(Brilliant but risky, if it doesn't work, i cant get internet anymore.)

Thank you very much.

Hello Alexandre.
Thanks for your answer.
It is not possible to update to 10.10 for me now because i only have access to
wifi and with update to 10.10 they dont give the drivers for wifi, you need to
have a lan-wired to update an get the wifi drivers.
Also 10.4 is LTS (long term service) then it could be great that the ene cards
drivers also gonna be part of kernel...
Thanks

[Bug 530277] Re: 0cf2:6250 ENE Technology, Inc. card reader not supported

2010-11-23 Thread Fred van Stappen
Hello
I have a acer one 533 and use Ubuntu 10.4 with the new kernel of today (update).
With that new kernel, ene card dont works (with older also not).
I have download keucr drivers and follow Alexander Martins script.
With "make -C /usr/src/linux-headers-`uname -r` M=`pwd` modules" i get 2 errors
and it does not compile.
Are that drivers only for Ubuntu 10.10 ?
How must i do with new kernel 10.4 ?
Thanks
