[Bug 371937] [NEW] Doesn't recognize Walkman Mp3 Player properly
Public bug reported: When I insert my Walkman MP3 Player Jaunty mounts it as 'Sony Corp. WALKMAN' but I can't access it. The MP3 displays on the screen Connecting USB (MTP), in older Ubuntu versions I could use it as any other USB device but since Jaunty I'm not able to use it correctly. The only way to read files is to create a new folder (which I can't name) and enter it. Then I can see the files and open them only with Totem because all other players fail. If I transfer something the player won't recognise it. I'm using the 64 bit version fully updated. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Doesn't recognize Walkman Mp3 Player properly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/371937 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 342806] [NEW] Grub hangs on "Start up..."
Public bug reported: I have an Acer Aspire 5050-5410 and Jaunty Alpha 6 installed on it. When I turn on the computer, grub starts ok but when the system starts Grub hangs on "Starting Up..." After like 35-45 seconds the system starts to boot normally. [Bug 350739] Re: Jaunty doesn't read mutimedia card
Stangely I connected my Mp3 player (Sony NWZ series) when it mounted, the card mounted as well. The card was inserted all this time. Now since Jaunty my mp3's screen displays a "Connecting USB (MTP), in Hardy and Intrepid displayed "Connecting" only. In Hardy and Intrepid I can browse the mp3's filesystem as if it was just another USB device, with Jaunty that's not the case, I can't browse it at all. When I plug in the device the autorun prompt pops and gives me the default options "Open Folder, Rhythmbox, Do Nothing" If I choose "folder" it's just like an empty folder, when I choose Rhythmbox the app launches but it doesn't see the mp3 player. I tried the SD/MMC card on my other test computer (Acer Aspire 5050-5410 laptop) and Jaunty mounted the card just finebut the mp3 has the same results. Update, the commands you gave me before actually did something! I didn't know they created files in my Home folder, I'll attach the files right now! Public bug reported: Hi, I have an Acer Aspire 5050-5410 with Intrepid Ibex. The problem is that whenever I boot it it throws me to the busybox prompt everyone hates. It gives me all kinds of errors or warnings or whatever they are. Sometimes try driver 8139 instead (or something like that), something about the cdrom driver version something, that some dev/disk/by UUID file doesn't exist blah blah blah. Every time I boot there's something different. I'm able to boot after I type exit. It gives me something like this: exit kinit: unable to find resume image. Starting normal boot... Then it boots like it's supposed to do. Ubuntu 7.10 didn't do this but Hardy Heron and Intrepid Ibex do it. I've tried different distros, like openSUSE, Mandriva, Fedora, PCLinux and Mint, all of these distros work well except Mint because it's Ubuntu derived. The weird thing is that when I load up the live disc it boots very normal. I've tried several times to test it, but it never fails. When I install the system it gives me the busybox thing. [Bug 371937] [NEW] Doesn't recognize Walkman Mp3 Player properly

[Bug 293161] Re: 8.10 throws me to busybox on an Acer Aspire 5050-5410.
Jaunty has fixed this, at least for me. I think it's a kernel problem. [Bug 350739] [NEW] Jaunty doesn't read mutimedia card
Public bug reported: I'm testing Jaunty on a Gateway GT5676, the multimedia card reader detects whenever I insert the card because a green light turns on but Ubuntu won't detect it. Ubuntu 8.04 and 8.10 detected it just fine and I could use it without any problems. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Jaunty doesn't read mutimedia card https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/350739 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 350739] Re: Jaunty doesn't read mutimedia card
I think something has gone wrong because none of those commands do something in my system, even after restarting it. "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" asks for my password, after I enter it nothing happens. Maybe I'm missing a package or something. I tried different commands and they work as expected.
[Bug 293161] [NEW] 8.10 throws me to busybox on an Acer Aspire 5050-5410.
Thank you. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- 8.10 throws me to busybox on an Acer Aspire 5050-5410. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/293161 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
