one more data point, seems that when I plug / unplug my charger cable it
fixes the problem and the back light comes back on!

same problem with 13.2beta7, I can ssh in and see that xorg cpu usage is
at 100% since in kde I mapped an key to do xset dpms force on to try and
manually turn on the monitor with no luck. I use displayport

I tryed to install Ubuntu v.10.10.
It crashed during the install.
Im sorry but i am new to all of this and im not really sure how to check all 
the parameters you guys are asking for in your guidelines. maybe if my report 
isnt sufficient enough you can email me and let me know what further 
information you require from me. 

This error popped up: E:Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code(1) as 
well as the error indicated above.
Can you please tell me how to fix this and let me know if i can still install 
ubuntu or at least return my computer to the state it was
before the installation of  ubuntu.

Siemens Amilo Pi 2530. I still pray that with the new kernel this
