** Description changed: Hello, I have a problem trying to install the Universal Scanner Driver (multifunction SAMSUNG SCX-3405) on an HP AMD 64 notebook, with Xubuntu 14.04 LTS-AMD 64Bits. The scanner is not detected. The sw is regularly updated. On another machine, with the same Xubuntu 14.04 LTS, BUT 32Bits, the driver is installed and works very well. More, when I used the 12.04 LTS-32Bits, on the same HP AMD 64 notebook, the driver was fine. [Bug 985165] Re: WI-FI on Asus eeepc 1001 HA not working in UBU 11.04
In order to make working my wifi card Ralink in the netbook Asus 1001HA, today I had to DOWNGRADE the kernel to the level 2.6.35-22: only with this one the wifi works "almost" fine! With any other superior release the card is DEAD! I write "almost" because if I try to stop the computer, without having before disconnected the wifi, the computer freezes, hang-up. It stops only with the power button pressed for a few seconds. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985165 Title: WI-FI on Asus eeepc 1001 HA not working in UBU 11.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/985165/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi Joseph Salisbury, I have tested the kernel Linux 3.2.0-24 generic in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and the problem is NOT fixed. My netbook Asus picks-up neither the signal from the WiFi router nor the signal from a local network "ad hoc", created by other notebook H.P. (with Broadcom B43 card). [Bug 896582] Re: RT3090 Network speed are very low with Oneiric.
Here is the email mentioned above: Dear Markus, my name is Enzo and I'm becoming crazy from the version 11.04 of Ubuntu because, from then on, I can't use the WiFi connection (it worked well only with the 10.10). My netbook is an Asus eeePC 1001 HA, equipped with the WiFi card Ralink rt3090. About two years ago I downloaded the driver from your site in Launchpad and I added your "ppa" to my Software Sources in order to receive the updates. Upgrading to newer version of Ubuntu maybe something was going wrong. Now I have downloaded from the site of Ralink the package RT2860 Firmware V26.zip (created on march 2010) but: 1) I'm not sure if this is the last version; if yes, may I install it? 2) Does Canonical, or the Linux foundation, keep up-to-date the drivers or not? When I open in Ubuntu the window "Added Drivers" (System>Administration) I can see the driver rt3090 "installed and activated" and a note says : "maintained from the developers of Ubuntu". I don't know what I have to do now: waiting for the new version of Ubuntu (12.04 LTS) or installing by myself the package mentioned above? Note please that I have NO PROBLEM working with Windows XP (dual-boot) on the same netbook!! Thank you very much for your attention and forgive my poor english, best regards. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/896582 Title: RT3090 Network speed are very low with Oneiric. [Bug 896582] Re: RT3090 Network speed are very low with Oneiric.
Hi, not only Lenovo machine, but the most common Asus eeePC netbook are affected (or afflicted!) by this issue. On my machine (1001HA) is installed the ill-famed RT3090 Ralink card, and the WiFi doesn't work at all. It worked fine with the Ubuntu 10.10 but, from then on, it stopped to work (no detection of signal, nor with 11.04 neither with 11.10). I wrote to Markus Heberling (Launchpad) just to know if it's more advisable to install the driver from the "ppa" (automatic updating) or install from the web-site RaLink (manual updating at every kernel change). Now I'm waiting, maybe that with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS we will be safe! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/896582 Title: RT3090 Network speed are very low with Oneiric. [Bug 959515] Re: Wifi Not working
The problem was ALREADY PRESENT on previous version (Ubuntu 10.10, Ubuntu 11.04, Ubuntu 11.10) and, from my point of view, the bug is into the NetworkManager in the filesystem. In my case the WiFi card is a Ralink rt3090, perfectly working in Windows (and one time in the old Ubuntu 10.04). The driver is installed and mainteined (!) by Canonical, but now Ubuntu is unable to find, relieve, any wifi signal. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/959515 Title: Wifi Not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/959515/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 416513] Re: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b
Hello friends, first of all THANKS for your kind attention to my problem! Sorry for wasting your time, but now it's evident to me that I must hope for the "Manual Duplex" supported in HPLIP (or in Ubuntu). Many cheap printers does not provide the automatic function double sided; so I suppose that the program improvement in that direction will be very liked to a lot of people. Thanks again and best regards, Enzo. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/416513 Title: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/416513/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 416513] Re: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b
Hello, sorry but my printer (HP PSC 1510) does not work properly with double-sided. It prints every page on a new sheet of paper, in sequence (1, 2, 3, ...) and not the odd pages first and the even pages after, as usual in Windows. [Bug 416513] Re: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b
Now I have installed the version 3.11.10 always on Ubuntu 10.10; this new version of HPLIP is intended as a fix of the problem Double Sided Printing? Are the correct settings: paper A4 Auto-duplex, Duplexer installed, Double Sided Printing Long Edge ? [Bug 428588] Re: Problems with hpcups driver: Setting duplex too complicated, miscellaneous regressions
I also have a trouble with Duplex Printing on HPLIP. My printer is a HP psc 1510 and I can't print double sided, nor with Ubuntu 9.04 neither with Ubuntu 10.10, in spite of the correct setting of the program. [Bug 416513] Re: duplex printing no longer works for OfficeJetPro 8500 with HPLIP > 3.9.6b
NO SRIKANTH, what you wrote is NOT true! The bug is NOT resolved yet, at least on printers like mine! In the meantime I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 and HPLIP 3.11.7 (the very last, one week ago) BUT the Double Sided Printing is NOT WORKING at all, on my H.P. PSC 1510, in spite of the setting "Long Edge (Standard)" and "Duplexer Installed on" (grey). In WINDOWS XP, on the contrary, everything is good.
