[Bug 198911] [NEW] egalax touchscreeen driver do not work in hardy
Public bug reported: So far this has been related to the HP tx1000 computer series but it probably relates to more tablet PCs, the touchscreen behaved well in Gutsy, using this procedure(http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=4197376&postcount=542). Although the procedure does not yield the same results in Hardy(I've tested in every version since alpha1). The drivers don't seem to load or something like it. The procedure is pretty straight foward, although I noticed that the "ServerLayout" Section has been removed from hardy's xorg, while it was present at gutsy's any help in the issue is appreciated ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- egalax touchscreeen driver do not work in hardy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/198911 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 190526] Re: laptop monitor does not turn on after inactivity when using nvidia-glx-new
I am also having the same problem with the HP tx1000z notebook series. When the computer turns off the monitor when it goes idle for too long or the lid is closed, the screen gets weird and you can see lines it something like a bad fil from the eartly 1900. When shutting down there's a similar problem the progress bar does not show, instead the screen starts fading resembling white-noise static which you would get from a TV, but weirder. a fix for this would be nice -- laptop monitor does not turn on after inactivity when using nvidia-glx-new https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190526 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 269652] Re: Worrying message " ata4: EH pending after 5 tries, giving up" from dmesg
I think this is a xorg related problem, at this point the computer does boot normally, exacept at the GDM screen the monitor turns itself off. it is still possible to do "CTRL+ALT+F1" to access terminal, there I can at least try to update (successfuly so) where the message above keeps being printed. I tried using the recovery boot to do a xfix or fix any broken packages, but that doesn't help. Something was displayed when I tried to copy the xorg.conf of my hardy partition and substituted it into the intrepid one. The X cursor appeared and a dialogue saying that it could not load drivers came up.It asks if I wanted to fix it which I am given the options to reconfigure or to edit the xorg.conf file. None of the options seem to make any difference. Upon restart the same old problem resumes.
