[Bug 1397116] Re: Keyboard input does not work as expected

2015-01-29 Thread wmwmwm
Update:

Gnome 3.14 update produces same issues again. Had to downgrade to
original gnome (3.12).

I'm going to install ubuntu 14.04 tomorrow. 14.04 is solid.

[Bug 1415678] [NEW] Keyboard input problems in various applications

2015-01-28 Thread wmwmwm
Public bug reported:

I am having trouble with i bus, x, or unity (gnome 3.12).

Fresh install ubuntu 14.10, 64 bit, nvidia. Having same problems at
another pc too.

Problem could be language based (turkish keyboard input).

Symptoms:
Mostly Java based applications freezes while typing, sometimes they crash,
sometimes they become responsive again. Not always java based applications. I
am having this issue with: chromium, filezilla, gedit, poedit etc.

Also unable to type turkish characters at poedit (ö,ğ,ü,ç,ş,ı). But
gedit, netbeans or other apps are fine. (Most important part, i need
poedit for translating php projects.)

I was using gnome ubuntu 14.10 and gnome 3.10 perfectly before fresh install.
Now i got ubuntu 14.10 and gnome 3.12.

Tried to upgrade to gnome 3.14, those problems are all solved, but gnome
3.14 is not ready for ubuntu. So nautilus and some other apps become
unusable. So i had to downgrade.

My problem is close to this one except i am having trouble with turkish
characters too:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ibus/+bug/481656

[Bug 1397116] Re: Keyboard input does not work as expected

2015-01-27 Thread wmwmwm
I think i am having same problem too.

I was using ubuntu 14.10 upraged incrementally since 12.04. Poedit was
working beautifully. (I still have same system on my other harddrive
working.)

But i brought a new hdd, and installed a fresh ubuntu 14.10 then, poedit
does not work as expected.

Symptoms:

POEDIT 1.5.4

None of the non-english characters work. For instance: ı, ö, Ö,ç,Ç,ü,Ü,ğ,Ğ etc.
Also sometimes ö character acts as backspace. Also backspace does not work too.

If i continue to push those characters fast, poedit crashes and closes
itself.

Is there any way to solve this problem on our own without waiting for a
new release?

Thanks.

[Bug 1397116] Re: Keyboard input does not work as expected

2015-01-27 Thread wmwmwm
Also i checked my old harddrive, it is same version of a fresh install. (Ubuntu
14.10 and poedit 1.5.4)
But it is working beautifully.

I checked another fresh install 14.10, poedit does the same thing at it
too.

This bug might be related to ubuntu core perhaps?

file list gets inresponsive but top menu is still active.

I am having this bug since ubuntu 10.04.

Also gives the error messages when i run from console:

[Bug 668224] Re: ubuntu 10.10 Grub gives message error: out of disk

2010-11-09 Thread wmwmwm
I don't know if it helps but, recently it does not boot after keyboard
ctrl+alt+del restart. But after hard restart from restart button on the
computer case fixes the problem until next cold boot. Also there is no
problem with restart functionality of the ubuntu when it is used from
shutdown menu.

Here is the full symptoms:
- When first boot grub throws out of disk error then loads rescue console.
- After a hard restart from restart button on the computer case solves the
problem. Second boot does not fail.
- If i power up my pc but then push restart button on the case before
initializing grub, then after restart grub fails again.
- If i use ctrl+alt+del restart from keyboard after out of disk error, grub
boot menu appears but it freezes. The down counter stays on 10 seconds and pc
halts.

I've installed from Usb.

Yes i have dual boot with damn xp for playing games (it is on a

ve installed new hdd with xp then updated grub for adding other os to
boot menu.)

in grub cfg there is insmod ext2 entries visible, but i'm using ex4
filesystem. This is not relevant with my problem i guess, but i'm not
sure if it is right either.

Thanks.
