[Bug 326744] Re: remote volume monitor causing system to hang

2009-02-26 Thread jylk wubuntu

[Bug 242955] Re: ubuntu 8.04 starts only on warm boot not on cold boot

2008-07-05 Thread wubuntu
This problem has been resolved. The culprit was the power unit (ac/dc
converter) that was too old to supply enough power to the hardware.
Once replaced with a brand new one the machine started to work
flawlessly. Looking back I now realize this was probably also the cause
of the woes with xp, the very thing that led me to install ubuntu. If I
had replaced the power unit earlier I might have not installed ubuntu.
Unlike in Europe linux is relatively unknown among the general public in
Japan. But ubuntu seems to be gaining momentum.

[Bug 242955] [NEW] ubuntu 8.04 starts only on warm boot not on cold boot

2008-06-25 Thread wubuntu
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-19-generic

I'm using ubuntu 8.04 hardy, its Japanese localized desktop version.
The MB is GA-7ZX-H. When I try to cold boot ubuntu the process either takes
an inordinately long time or stops with a busybox and a command prompt. At the
prompt I type "reboot" then the os starts imediately (the to and fro movement
in the orange horizontal bar stops immediately and booting starts). The same
with
cold booting windows xp first and then rebooting ubuntu right afterwards without
shutting the power down. I have had the "Error 16: inconsistent filesystem
structure"
message some of the times but not always. I have two drives, one with xp and
ubuntu, and
the other a data disc formatted in ntfs. I also have had a couple of grub
failures from
which I recovered successfully by typing: find /boot/grub/stage1.
Other than this annoying problem ubuntu works flawlessly. I can get around
this
by cold booting xp first and rebooting to ubuntu, but it's a nuisance
nonetheless.

[Bug 238589] [NEW] impress doesn't allow me to edit spellcheck options

2008-06-09 Thread wubuntu
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

ubuntu 8.04 ja with all the Japanese functions prepackaged
Openoffice.org autocorrects the first letter in a line be a capital letter
which I find very annoying. To change it I tried to reach the "option" button
when I execute spell check. But when I run spellcheck, it does the job and
close the window. The window does not stay open for me to change the settings.

blacklist rt61pci and load rt61 (from serialmonkey) which i have

nevertheless, it's disappointing
