[Bug 540134] Re: Screen backlight doesn't come on again after opening the lid

2010-03-22 Thread yakuizhao
Can you add the boot option of "drm.debug=0x04" and do the following test?
 1. get the output of "cat /proc/acpi/button/LID/*/state", dmesg,
intel_reg_dumper before close the LID
 2. close the LID
 3. Open the LID
 4. Please login the system by using ssh and get the output of " cat
/proc/acpi/button/LID/*/state", dmesg, intel_reg_dumper again.

Thanks.

[Bug 410455] Re: [i855] Karmic Koala Alpha 3 live CD give black screen

2009-08-30 Thread yakuizhao
Hi, Stefan
This issue is not related with the kernel. The issue can be reproduced
regardless of whether KMS or UMS is used.
In fact the main issue of this bug is that we can't get the fixed mode
correclty for LVDS panel in case that there is no EDID for LVDS.
So please focus on that no fixed mode is obtained for LVDS output device.
We have fixed the similar issues on another box based on 855GM chipset.

Does this issue still exist when using another external monitor?
Will you please add the modedebug option in xorg.conf and attach the

cat /sys/devices/pci:00/:00:02.0/rom >vbios.dump

[Bug 398026] Re: [GM45] Default 60Hz display mode drives LVDS incorrectly

2009-07-16 Thread yakuizhao
Hi, Geir
What you said is right. I hope that it is tested on the 2.6.31.2 instead of
2.6.31.3.
The remaining issue is why we can add the mode like 1440x900*60. It is very
interesting.
I check the code and find that it is not parsed from EDID. And it is not
defined in the default mode table. I don't know where to add it.
Thanks.

How do you change the refresh rate? In the boot phase or by using xrandr?

[Bug 191871] Re: Live CD won't install on Acer Aspire 3050-1922

2008-12-14 Thread yakuizhao
Hi, David
From the 2.6.22.14 dmesg log it seems that there exists the following
errors:
 >ACPI Error (psargs-0355): [\_SB_.PHSR] Namespace lookup failure,
AE_NOT_FOUND
 >ACPI Error (psparse-0551): Method parse/execution failed
[\_SB_.PCI0.LPC0.EC0_._REG] (Node da0b05a0), AE_NOT_FOUND

As the PHSR object doesn't exist, it causes that the EC _REG object can't
be executed correclty. In such case the EC device can't be initialized
correctly.
Will you please try the latest kernel(2.6.28-rc6/7) and see whether the
system can be booted with ACPI enabled?
In fact we have a similiar bug in kernel bugzilla(bug 8953, 10237). The
two boxes can't be booted with ACPI enabled as there is no PHSR object.
thanks.
