[Bug 740126] Re: Something blocks compiz randomly several times per day

2011-05-08 Thread yiourkas
I am using the kernels of #46 for 3-4 days and I had no such issue since
then. My display adapter is:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset
Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])
(It uses the i915 module)

In ccsm, I have Sync to VBlank set to true the whole time.

I have tried to trigger the bug using all possible ways:
locking/unlocking while flash/chrome is playing, xset dpms,
closing/opening lid.

So, for me that fix did the job

[Bug 774982] [NEW] Xorg Freeze on Ubuntu11.04

2011-05-01 Thread yiourkas
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-intel

Probably a duplicate of #757475

Xorg freezes completely. Only the mouse moves.

I can switch to a terminal (CTRL + ALT + Fx) and type commands there.
Everything works. Even all the application inside Xorg run perfectly,
however the display is frozen (well except from the mouse).

I can run compiz --replace from ssh, but that doesn't change anything.
Same happens with metacity. Currently, the only way to recover is
restart xserver, either from bash or with CTRL+ALT+Backspace. Of course
this kills the current session.

Also, apport-gpu-error-intel.py doesn't do anything. I had to comment
out some lines before creating a crash report. I am attaching the report
separately.

I am using Ubuntu 11.04 with gnome and compiz as the window manager.
