[Bug 511108] [NEW] Thunderbird freezes on creating folder/subfolder
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: thunderbird I use thunderbird for my gmail account with IMap. I installed ubuntu 9.10 from scratch and imported a big amount of emails from the gmail server to my pc. In that time I created some subfolders in inbox as well as some filters for the different mailing lists. The next day I try to create a new subfolder thunderbird freezes. [Bug 509575] [NEW] Eclipse does not startup
Public bug reported: I just had a clean install of 9.10,jdk and eclipse. Upon starting eclipse I got the splash screen and nothing happens I defined JAVA_HOME and GTK_IM_MODULE= so I run strace -ff ./eclipse only to find that the startup goes in some kind of infinite loop and never starts. The log of that command is attached to the bug report. My settings are ubuntu 9.10 64 up to date java: java version 1.6.0_15 Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_15-b03) Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.1-b02, mixed mode) Eclipse: Galileo EE I also downgraded libglib2 as adviced in other forums. (also tried it with the upgraded version, same error). I solved the problem. The only thing remaining from the old system was the old home partition. Now I created a new user and launched eclipse from the new user and it worked fine. Re: [Bug 340126] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 freezes
This of course is a possibility, since I have my Azureus opened all the time. But funny that I never faced this problem with the amd 32 bit version. I'll give it delug a try. Ok, so now I installed Debian lenny and tried to my best to keep the packages installed similar and have been using it for sometime now and it didn't freeze even once. [Bug 340126] Re: Ubuntu 8.10 amd64 freezes
Thanks for the reply, I tried the memtest86+ test and it didn't find any errors. One more observation, which is my pc freezed again today as soon as I restarted azeurus, and upon restarting my pc then again azeurus, it didn't freeze. I find these freezes very random actually and not related to a certain action, so yes what you suggested about a hardware problem is also a possibility. The only thing I can think of right now, is to use debian Amd64 for the next few days and see if I face the same freezing problem I'm facing with ubuntu. Re: [Bug 209794] Re: Clear Private Data does not clear private data from the Awesome Bar's Rich Results list
Very good, that was stupidity on my side, but still interesting to notice that this check box was by default unchecked. [Bug 209794] Re: Firefox-3 does not clear private data
It's very true. The history is like a closed box. The old addresses since my firefox2 can not be deleted and at the same time, no new addresses are being added (whether with 0 or 12). Also when I click tools-clear private data, I don't get that dialogue at all.
