[Bug 1561719] [NEW] xenial server install keyboard layout broken
Public bug reported: Xenial server install doesn't allow to have US English keyboard layout when location is Argentina. I live in Argentina but I usually configure my servers install with the following options: Language: English Country: other Location: South America, Argentina Locales: United States Keyboard: English (United States) This allows me to configure my servers with English US layout (faster and better than Spanish layouts, at least for administration and coding) and at the same time have the correct time zone (Buenos Aires, Argentina). In Xenial I can do all except for keyboard layout where the only layout in English (Cameroon). I have to install with Spanish layout and change it to English after the installation is complete. No big deal actually, but I prefer the previous behavior. [Bug 1449005] Re: trim does not work with Samsung 840 EVO after firmware update (EXT0DB6Q)
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1338706 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1338706 Hello, I have a Samsung 850 EVO (500GB) and yesterday my laptop was unresponsive. I had to do a hard power off. After a few minutes of usage, another crash. This time I was able to switch to the console and I took a picture (see attach, I'm sorry for the quality). I moved the disk to my desktop computer to make a backup, but at 30% the disk died. After a reboot, I was able to read the disk again. I could backup almost everything. The problem seems to be some large torrent (~100GB) that I was downloading. I ran fstrim manually two or three times the past weeks, but I had no problem doing so. Is the disk damaged/dying, or is just a kernel issue? Thanks! Firmware is EMT01B6Q. [Bug 1446906] Re: lxc container with postfix, permission denied on mailq
Hi Brad. Totally unrelated to this bug but I find really weird (for not saying abussive) that Cannical needs to collect all these files, some of them with apparent serial numbers and show this information in a public system. It would be nice if apport-collect were changed/anhanced with: 1 - filter serial numbers (hard I know) 2 - let it me choose what I want to upload Now, going back to the bug. [Bug 989354] Re: cgroup-lite and separated /usr
Hello Serge, [quote] start on mounted MOUNTPOINT=/sys and mounted MOUNTPOINT=/proc [/quote] A few months ago, I got a similar problem at work. I needed to make sure two filesystems were mounted, and I came to a solution like the one you're suggesting. And nope. It didn't work. cgroup-lite is in an endless loop right now :-) So I tried to put some echoes on the job. And the problem is (are actually) tail and awk awk is installed in /usr/bin/awk (which is a symlink to /etc/alternatives/akw, which is a symlink to /usr/bin/mawk). The same for tail. The for loop (for c in `tail -n +2 /proc/cgroups | awk) at the end of /bin/cgroup-mount is never executed. I did a simple "cp /usr/bin/awk /bin/" and "cp /usr/bin/tail /bin/" and got cgroup-lite working. Now I'm wondering two things: 1) how did you get this to work with a separated /usr 2) what others things are broken when /usr is on a separated partition. [Bug 432222] Re: boot fails, mountall likely culprit
Hello, my box booted once in ten tries (amd64). It didn't show garbled paths, but it didn't like my xfs partitions. Sometimes it was /home, sometimes /var. Your patch worked in the first try (I'll update tomorrow if it works in every boot) but being able to reboot is a step in the right direction. I still get var mounted on /dev/.var in mount/df (mtab has wrong info) but that's for sure another bug. BTW: __mountall needs to be static because of the *_hook_walk() funtions inside *_hook() Maybe it is a gcc 4.4.1 issue because it doesn't make sense to me the need for static char __mountall[]. -- boot fails, mountall likely culprit https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/43 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
