[Bug 948875] [NEW] Unable to receive TLS connection when sun.security.pkcs11.SunPKCS11 is enabled
Public bug reported: A SSL server, e.g. created by using SSLServerSocketFactory or SSLContext, will not work when using TLS connections (see for http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9586162/openjdk-and-php-ssl- connection-fails example code and openssl s_client results). [Bug 377609] [NEW] FTP cant connect to some servers
Public bug reported: Hello I have had this problem with connecting to a particular ftp server (no matter which ftp client use), with earlier versions of ubuntu this have been able to connect just fine, but since somewhere in the early betas of 9.04 I sopped being able to connect to three of the ftp servers I work with on daily basis. On all other operating systems (Mac, Windows and a earlier version of ubuntu) in the house I am able to connect just fine even my router can telnet to server, I also have access to a couple of debian computers, which are also able to connect without problems. When I try telnet to port 21 from my computer all I get is $ telnet ftp.frise.dk 21 Trying 80.82.99.228... Connected to ftp.frise.dk. Escape character is '^]'. where as I should receive something like $ telnet ftp.frise.dk 21 220 ProFTPD 1.3.1rc2 Server (DHT www2.dht.dk) [80.82.99.228] I haven't experienced any other ftp servers I could not connect to, only the three mentioned before. Before opening this bug I asked on ubuntuforums.org (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1137302) and at least one other person seems to have the same problem. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help the process along. I'm using ubuntu 9.04 (64 bit), and my dualboot windows has no problems whatsoever connecting to the servers. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- FTP cant connect to some servers https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/377609 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 331992] Re: [jaunty] npviewer.bin uses a lot of CPU
Whether it is a bug in flash or not, i do not know, but it has never been normal for me to have this high CPU usage just for watching youtube. I have used ubuntu for almost two years on this laptop and have never experienced npviewer with such high CPU usage, in my opinion it should not be necessary for flash to use all of one core, on a core 2 duo 2.0 Ghz CPU, and have never been. Whether to look in to it or not I do not know, but it sure does affect performance if you forget to kill npviewer before leaving it for an hour without having it plugged in the power socket, it cuts the battery time in about half. -- [jaunty] npviewer.bin uses a lot of CPU https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/331992 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 330531] [NEW] gdm fails while startx doesn't
Public bug reported: Hi After upgrading to alpha4 of Jaunty, after the upgrade i boot right in to ubuntu (X works fine, except for big font, which i managed to fix by changing dpi to 96), and i enable the nvidia driver version 180 for my graphic card and reboots. Now gdm tries to start a few times and but ends with failsafe-thingy where i can view my logs and reconfigure x.org, etc. I have tried to run nvidia-xconfig (this has helped me in the past when X wasn't working), but nothing helped, still the same thing when restarting gdm, but if I turn of gdm and run startx, it starts up just fine, it seems a bit familiar with http://bugs.debian.org /cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=514372. [Bug 216634] Re: Intel PRO/Wireless 4965 AGN deactivates
I do. Yesterday I installed linux-backports-modules-intrepid, and today I have had to breakdowns. Both times I have lost my connection like I have so often before, then I write sudo iwlist wlan0 scan, just to be sure, and it didn't terminate or return anything, and then I try to click on network manager applet, and all freezes up, and the can do almost nothing. The light doesn't even come on when I push CapsLock (oddly it does when push NumLock), the only thing I can do is restart X (with ctrl+alt+backspace), but that just brings me to terminal where nothing seems to happen, and I have to stop the computer by holding down the start button for 10 seconds. Normally when I loose the connection, I am able to use sudo iwlist wlan0 scan (with no result but an error message saying something about not being able to find anything or that the network card didn't respond, or something like that, I cant really remember), and do modprob -r iwlagn and modprobe iwlang, and bring the connection up again. I have recently updated to Intrepid to check another bug (#182931) and can confirm that I still have the problem with my 4965. Just today I have had the problem twice in about two (now tree) or tree hours, normally a reboot brings the network card running again, but I have also figured out that if I deactivate the wireless (Fn+F5) and activates it again, and remove some of the iwl* modules I have (iwl3945, iwlang and iwlcore) and add them back, with modprobe, I can sometimes get it up and running again (maybe sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart is needed, but I am not sure). How come I suddenly do not have a iwl4965 module any more? I used to have one in 7.04 Hope this could be of some help. PS. I have earlier had problems with gnome-power-manager (and was told it was do to another bug - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome- power-manager/+bug/196688), but yesterday I got a similar problem with pidgin: The sound suddenly wasn't working, and I did a "killall pulseaudio", this used to help but didn't, so instead I did "ps aux | grep pulseaudio" and "kill -9 ", and in the same moment I got a pidgin sound (like when you receive a message), even though it was at least an hour since I last got one. And then the system got slow, real slow, but i manage to open up gnome-system-monitor, and I saw that pidgin was eating up more that 500MB of my memory. Killing pidgin made the system run normal again. It might be another bug again, but kind of weird it comes at the same as the gnome-power-manager did. ** Attachment added: "Pidgin using 625MB memory" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14360939/pidgin2.png -- Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/202089 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 202089] Re: [hardy] Pulseaudio is blocking normal sound after resume
I got here because I had a similar problem (with mocp), it helped to killall pulseaudio - but the I experienced some weird problems with gnome-power-manager, not that it took 100% CPU, but that i used up most my memory (bout 600 MiB), can this relay be on purpose? or is it some kind of memory leak or what ever? I have attached a screenshot of Systemmanager(? I only know the danish name - "Systemovervågning" - but it kind of does the same as the top command). So basically i can confirm both that there can be a problem with pulseaudio and that gnome-power-manager has a problem. I also use a uptodate version of Hardy. [Bug 183582] Re: Ubuntu 7.10 fails to install on ThinkPad T61p
I have a T61 (nvidia 140M), and I also get a black screen when booting the live cd, but after a _long_ wait I finally get the live desktop, and can install. The problem with black screen during boot is also present after installation of ubuntu, the first thing i see (after grub) is the nvidia logo.
