[Bug 1005578] Re: printer settings not accessable
A fix has been committed to the Proposed Repository See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/precise/+source/foomatic-filters/+bug/1002699 for more information. I downloaded the .deb and installed manually and all is now working. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: New = Fix Committed ** Changed in: linuxmint Status: New = Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005578 Title: printer settings not accessable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1005578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1005578] Re: printer settings not accessable
Have run Lubuntu 12.04 as a live setup, confirm that the bug resides in Lubuntu. Have downloaded and Installed LMDE, (debian edition XFCE) both live and proper install, and confirm that there is NO BUG in LMDE. So can confirm as it were this is a regression in Ubuntu 32bit and 64bit 12.04. Not knowing anything about architecture etc I can only guess that there is no successful communication between the Application printer settings and the cups printerserver. (I guess I am sticking now with LMDE, even though I will miss ubuntuone.) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005578 Title: printer settings not accessable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1005578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1005578] Re: printer settings not accessable
For me this is a killer There is a Disconnect somewhere in cups? or a pipeline between the application Print Dialogue and the print server. I do not know how to track it down sorry. Changes in an Application Print setting for Gnome3/Cinnamon. Certainly Evince/Libre Office/gedit. Only Page number and number of copies work. All other settings fail to change. (Ricoh MPC4500) including colour/gray duplex Tray Source and destination Document Server/normal/Locked print etc etc. (I am in PinguyOS at present trying to find a 12.04 that works grrr..) To make changes to printer options I installed system-config-printer 1.3.8 Changed the printer settings there, pressed apply, then printed from application. When Done restored settings in system-config-printer (in Synapse and Menu it is called Print to Document Server) Tried to report to gnome bugzilla (eggcups | session-cupsd | unspecified i was told it was not eggcups, but could not find where else to report) Am presently installing maya-MATE on another computer to see if it is broken there as well. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005578 Title: printer settings not accessable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1005578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1005578] Re: printer settings not accessable
Have installed 32 bit LM Maya on an eeepc. Confirmed the same issue there. Step By Step: BUG 1 32Bit Mint Maya\Cinnamon and MATE (pinguyOS 12.04) 2 Installed Printer (Network Ricoh MPC4500 on ip 196.etc) and tested. Test print Fine. Used openprinting provided ppd for the Ricoh PXL. 3 Opened Librewriter /gedit/pluma in my case. 4 Create or open standard text min 2 pages. 5 Menu | Print 6. changed number of Copies to 3 and three copies print out single sided. (6 pages in all) (Good) 7. Menu | Print 8. 3 Copies. Choose button Properties (libre office) or choose tab page setup (gedit/evice) select Duplex longside/shortside whatever. Prints out 6 single side pages. 9. Menu | Print 10. Choose anything on the properties tab/button no effect. 100% time WORKAROUND 11. in Gnome installed application system-config-printer. Called directly via synapse in MATE control centre | Printing = same thing 12. Select Ricoh | properties 13. Choose desired options, duplex, paper tray and destination, Colour/Grey, Jo type (Normal, Locked, Document Server = stored on Photocopier) 14. return to Application Menu|Print (number of copies) Success. 15. the printer settings remain through reboot until they are changed again by system-config-printer. This is 100% every time. Fresh install of PenguyOS which is Ubuntu12.04. I confirm BUG and workaround with new install of Mint-Maya-MATE Bug existed in previous installs of ubuntu 12.04 and Mint 13 Cinnamon. No problem for Mint12. Can still boot into that if needed Happy to supply whatever you need for more info (just tell me what to do in little steps) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1005578 Title: printer settings not accessable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/1005578/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
