[Bug 1007508] Re: [Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3] Unable to boot without workarounds
@MicWit: I had problems even with 11.10, as you can see in the automatically generated part of the description. Perhaps I should test the newer kernels, but I totally got bored with it and I just use workaround 2: disable AMD C1E. Maybe you should open a separate bug report? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1007508 Title: [Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3] Unable to boot without workarounds To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1007508/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1007508] Re: [Gigabyte GA-870A-USB3] Unable to boot without workarounds
Can you try a disk for 12.04.3? (http://old- releases.ubuntu.com/releases/precise/) I had a similar issue, and found it happened on Ubuntu 12.04.4 and later, as well as new versions of Lubuntu, but not on Lubuntu 12.04. Tested Ubuntu 12.04.3, and it seems to work. Im guessing it is something in the kernel upgrade that happened 12.04.3 -> 12.04.4. Hope this can help, I would love to get the supported version of 12.04 running on my old sony vaio.
