[Bug 1013963] Re: NetworkManager doesn't support bridge interface defined in /etc/network/interfaces
Network Manager in Fedora and possibly upstream as well supports bridges properly. This should be added to Ubuntu's Network manager or pulled from upstream. https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=546197 http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Networking/Bridging#Using_NetworkManager_.28permanent.29 ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #546197 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=546197 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013963 Title: NetworkManager doesn't support bridge interface defined in /etc/network/interfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1013963/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1013963] Re: NetworkManager doesn't support bridge interface defined in /etc/network/interfaces
I get this behavior when I use a bridge or an ordinary wired ethernet (eth0) for network connection iff this interface is not managed by NetworkManager but defined in /etc/network/interfaces. Problem is (at least to my experience) that NetworkManager cannot open an VPN over a working connection that it does not manage itself. Feature requests: 1. NetworkManager should search for and report properties of ALL network connections, even these not managed by itself. Working connections not managed by NetworkManager should marked like 'not managed by NM'. 2. NetworkManager should be able to use every working connection as basis for a VPN. ___ I am using ubuntu 12.04 LTS i386 32bit and NM from package 0.9.4.0-0ubuntu4.2 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013963 Title: NetworkManager doesn't support bridge interface defined in /etc/network/interfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1013963/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
