[Bug 1014613] Re: Convert Mobile Phones, MP3 incomplete frame error

2016-09-02 Thread Paul Gevers
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since
that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some
of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently
supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly
upload the updated logs by running only once:
apport-collect 1014613

and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.

2012-10-18 Thread Christopher Forster
Then the .flv conversion worked(?). About the .avi error while decoding:
I should try another input file with a different kind of codec too?
There are many codecs for an AVI file, since an AVI file can be
compressed in a variety of ways.

But YOU ASKED for a mp3 in the preset: "Convert Mobile Phones & MP3
(Mono)". So you get an mp3, which can not contain video as it is a audio
container. So if I understand you right, you just selected a preset with
different expectations than was meant?

So everything is going ok now? Or is it something else that you try to
communicate. Please be a little bit more verbose in you reports. What do
you want me to fix?

Paul

A Flash Video (FLV) file with "Convert Mobile Phones" was converted into

I expected a "Convert Mobile Phones" file from the AVI file, instead I
got the errors mentioned before. I could do some micro-volunteering
latter and try another AVI file.

[Bug 1014613] Re: Convert Mobile Phones, MP3 incomplete frame error

2012-10-10 Thread Paul Gevers
Could you please explain what you expect? The upstream bug has nothing
to do with the issue here. Winff doesn't care if it is ffmpeg or avconv
you are using. The presets so far should be compatible.

Please provide the requested information: Please verify that this
problems exists with other files as well.

Also already mentioned in this bug: It would probably be better for the future
to use
/usr/bin/avconv in stead of the (in Ubuntu) obsolete /usr/bin/ffmpeg (in
Winff -> Edit -> Preferences -> Linux -> Path to ffmpeg executable).

And ffmpeg is still being developed, it is just not included in Ubuntu
and Debian at this moment. The packagers moved with the libav fork. This
might be different in the future thou.

FFmpeg is not being developed anymore, but Libav is. Could this bug
still be solved?

2012-07-29 Thread Paul Gevers
Sorry to take so long to respond to comment #3, but what has this
comment to do with the bug? It is related to my side note in comment #2,
but that has nothing to do with the bug I assume.

You haven't answered my question: Please verify that this problems
exists with other files as well.
