Can you please try if this happens with no .xchat configuration files? Due to the length of time it took to receive an response to this problem; I have switched distros and am now running slackware. xchat also crashes every time I start it up. I am not sure how to give you a print out of the problem so I am not sure why it is crashing. It is reproducible.
