It's weird, as I definitely didn't change it manually. I'm running a fresh installation of Quantal in a VM right now, and it says 'ubuntu' on that line (for now), so we'll see if I can somehow reproduce it again. release = Distribution('ubuntu').getDevelopmentSeries().name
Your requestsync says instead:
release = Distribution('hostname').getDevelopmentSeries().name
