[Bug 1034984] Re: buggy touchscreen behavior affecting desktops, wm and onboard

2014-01-06 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Raphaël Jakse, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in
the development release from a Terminal
(Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather
and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is
already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one
would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1034984] Re: buggy touchscreen behavior affecting desktops, wm and onboard

2013-07-25 Thread Jalink
Found a workaround: Replaced the window manager xfce4wm by metacity.
This works! And your multi-touch remains.

sudo apt-get install metacity
metacity --replace

Then you can go to sessions-and-startup from the control panel and save
the session to keep metacity as your default window decorator.

[Bug 1034984] Re: buggy touchscreen behavior affecting desktops, wm and onboard

2013-07-23 Thread Jalink
The problem must be xfce4-wm, as other applications do take touches.
However, I can't seem to touch the content of a website in firefox
either. After clicking once with the mouse I am able to click anywhere
on the website, but other GUI elements do not respond any more.

I've noticed a difference between the info that xinput-test generates when
clicking:
A mouse: button press 1
The touch screen: button press 1 a[0]=61 a[1]=1977 a[2]=1

My xinput list:
⎡ Virtual core pointerid=2[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Mosart Wireless Mouse id=9[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ eGalaxTouch Virtual Device for Multiid=10[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ eGalaxTouch Virtual Device for Single id=11[slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3[master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Buttonid=6[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Buttonid=7[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ CHICONY HP Basic USB Keyboard id=8[slave keyboard (3)]

Native drivers have the same issue as the EETI driver.

2013-07-23 Thread Raphaël Jakse
This bug is still there in Kubuntu 13.04. Installing Xorg from the
Debian repository as a workaround still works and multitouch is still
lost.

It seems to affect desktop environments / programs which use some
specific X11 API (supposition to be verified).

2012-08-09 Thread Raphaël Jakse
After playing with xfce, I found it affected by the Bug.
The desktop + everything in the panels that is not a launcher or an icon in the
tray doesn't respond anymore to taps (mouse still works).
I don't know how I got this though.
