This week the internal speakers of my x201 stopped working all of a sudden. Headphones still work flawlessly. But I'm not sure if this is the same bug because I definitely did not mute anything in Windows. So if this is a general problem (regardless of having a dual boot setup, which I do not have) this bug affects me, too. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/PositionReporting suggests to edit /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf For me this fixed the issue: Add options snd-hda-intel position_fix=2 to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and reboot.
