[Bug 1036874] Re: Eject USB drive triggers OSD notification but Safely Remove does not.

2013-05-14 Thread Arthur Tan
Changing the status to Invalid because as of 13.04 there is no more
Safely Remove option in quicklists for removable media.

** Changed in: unity
   Status: New = Invalid

** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed = Invalid

** No longer affects: nautilus

[Bug 1036874] Re: Eject USB drive triggers OSD notification but Safely Remove does not.

2012-12-03 Thread Arthur Tan
I just noticed another related behavior. When Ejecting a USB drive, if
you get a window asking if you want to empty Trash first, then no OSD
notification will be displayed after Trash is emptied. Ideally, you
should get a notification after Trash has been emptied and the USB drive
has been ejected.

Re: [Bug 1036874] Re: Eject USB drive triggers OSD notification but Safely Remove does not.

2012-08-22 Thread Arthur Tan
Thanks Bilal. I see that both Eject and Safely Remove will be
combined into just Safely Eject (and then trigger a OSD
notification). Great work!

   Using Ubuntu 12.04, Unity 5.14.

Ejecting a thumb drive (right-click launcher icon) triggers a OSD
notification but selecting Safely Remove does not. Shouldn't both
   actions trigger notifications?

(On a related note, neither Eject nor Safely Remove from within
   Nautilus generates OSD Notifications...)

I always get a notification whether I Eject or Safely Remove the thumb
drive. Don't know why you not getting the notification...

[Bug 1036874] Re: Eject USB drive triggers OSD notification but Safely Remove does not.

2012-08-17 Thread Arthur Tan
Hi Ravi,

I don't know why either. I just tested it again and I'm only seeing
notifications for Eject but not for Safely Remove from within the
launcher.

Can you confirm the second part of my bug report? In Nautilus, I'm not
getting any notifications when I eject or safely remove drives.

2012-08-17 Thread Omer Akram
In Ubuntu 12.10 with Unity 6.2.0-0ubuntu2 right clicking on a usb icon
in the launcher only shows two entries. 'open' and 'eject' click on
eject show a notification to me.

Tested on 12.04 and I can confirm the issue here as well.
