Hi Scott, and thank you for your report. I have looked at the screenshots that you've attached, and they do not actually match Ubuntu Software Center in Quantal at all. Do you have any customizations that might explain this? A standard install of Ubuntu Quantal 12.10 will not exhibit the problems that you describe. Please let us know.
