I had the same problem, and was corrected by those steps -Open a terminal in the home directory: mv ~/.kde ~/.kde2 -Run Konqueror, keep window open. -Go to terminal again: rm -r .kde mv ~/.kde2 ~/.kde - Go to Konqueror window. Thanks! The problem had already solved itself (magically) but I'll keep the email in case it happens again. Do you know a way to coerce konqueror to open with a particular view profile when external applications tell it to open particular files, like when I click a bookmark in the kicker? I want to have split windows all the time. I deleted ~/.kde/share/config/konquerorrc twice, no change. The toolbars cannot be added, and the menu bar is missing some options, and the options are in the wrong order. Yes, it's a profile configuration problem. You can fix it by deleting one of the config files in ~/.kde/share/ I'm not sure which file though.
