[Bug 1054537] Re: Unable to select other installed desktop environments when logging in.
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1052453 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1052453 Same problem here. As a side-note: /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf still had "gnome-shell" as default session, but there's no /usr/share/xsession/gnome-shell.desktop. The file has been renamed to gnome.desktop. However, fixing the wrong entry in /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf had no effect on this bug. I'm just adding this note, because I suppose that there are more old/wrong references to gnome-shell that might cause this bug... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1054537 Title: Unable to select other installed desktop environments when logging in. [Bug 1054537] Re: Unable to select other installed desktop environments when logging in.
** Description changed: I am using lightdm 1.3.3-0ubuntu4, in Ubuntu 12.10. I installed gnome- shell 3.5.92-0ubuntu1. Gnome, Gnome Classic and Gnome Classic (No Effects) show up as selectable in lightdm as expected, along with Unity. However, Gnome Shell and Gnome Classic can not be selected. Clicking on them results in no response. + + EDIT: I tried to see if the problem was the same with other desktop + environments. It is possible to install and select xubuntu-desktop and + use it properly. The buttons for selecting KDE and LXDE in lightDM + respond visually to a click, unlike for Gnome Shell/Gnome Classic, but + clicking on them does not result on them being selected.
