Public bug reported: Feisty has my standard IDE drives (usually hda and hdc) listed as sda and sdb.
My arrangement is usually (or should be): Pri-Master - hda 40gb (has hda1 as swap and hda2 as /) Pri-Slave - hdb CD-RW/DVD-ROM Sec-Master - hdc 250gb (has hdca as /home) Sec-Slave - hdd CD-RW/DVD-RW Feisty created my /etc/fstab as follows: # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass> proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 # /dev/sda2 UUID=817212c9-5326-4564-a922-02c968ff03ae / ext3 defaults,errors=remount-ro 0 1 # /dev/sdb1 UUID=43ebc5ff-f943-4fae-b230-6b13fc316b72 /home ext3 defaults 0 2 # /dev/sda1 UUID=fb339463-7add-4014-b675-aa9ecfd1fac0 none swap sw 0 0 /dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user, noauto 0 0 /dev/scd1 /media/cdrom1 udf,iso9660 user, noauto 0 0 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy0 auto rw,user, noauto 0 0 Oddly this seems to be working as far as my hard drives are concerned, but my optical drives do all kinds of odd things, sometimes visible, sometimes not, sometimes they'll mount, sometimes not, sometimes they'll burn, sometimes not. I did change my fstab to reflect the 'correct' configuration, and it worked (about a week ago), but since installing the latest updates it doesn't. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Feisty: Incorrectly identifies hd as sd (eg hda1 - sda1) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/106100 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
