@ M. van der Heide sure you assign it to ubiquity (the graphical) install _until_ somebody triages to be a problem in another package. There are hundreds of software packages that get you the graphical installer, and we do need to start narrowing it down. I also tried booting the 12.10 beta 2 CD on an older dekstop with a nVidia 9600GT video card, but it gives the same scrambled screen.
