William Grant ( https://launchpad.net/~wgrant ) has a 2.46 deb for both Hardy and Intrepid in his PPA which correctly sets the window icon. It seems that regular Blender (version 2.45) provided by the package manager does not have an icon. Blender 2.46 downloaded from blender.org site on the other hand has the icon in the window. Same is true for a recent SVN version. I am not sure what is causing the issue. A fix for this "bug" is on current SVN version of Blender. This should be sent upstream then. (I think I know what that term means now :P) KDE uses a workaround in the menu entry which can set custom window icons and window titles different from that set by the application itself.
