[Bug 1067104] Re: Additional drivers not showing
As gorgekara found out in the previous comment, the problem was that at that time there was no fglrx driver available for current X.org. In current Ubuntu releases it works again, so closing this. ** Package changed: ubuntu-drivers-common (Ubuntu) = fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067104 Title: Additional drivers not showing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1067104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1067104] Re: Additional drivers not showing
Ok about my problem with the display drivers: This seems to be a very common problem for newer versions Ubuntu 12.10. The problem seems to be caused by the new version of xserver: http://www.ubuntuvibes.com/2012/10/amd-catalyst-legacy-driver-still-doesnt.html On Sat, Jun 8, 2013 at 8:14 AM, Ma Xiaojun damage3...@gmail.com wrote: ** Package changed: software-properties (Ubuntu) = ubuntu-drivers- common (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067104 Title: Additional drivers not showing Status in “ubuntu-drivers-common” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: First of all I'm aware of the new location of the Additional Drivers - The problem is when I click on that tab I get No proprietary drivers in use. [Bug 1067104] Re: Additional drivers not showing
I'm not completely sure, but I think it's the same problem I have. Looking at Additional Drivers I can see my the options for the Ati Graphic Card and the Wi-Fi card. But when I plug in my Hauppage DVB-T that needs proprietary drivers to work, it isn't listed in Additional Drivers though they are available installing linux-firmware-nonfree package -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067104 Title: Additional drivers not showing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-properties/+bug/1067104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1067104] Re: Additional drivers not showing
I tried adding the Canonical Parners repo with no luck. I also tried installing fglrx through the Software Center which (as Corey mentioned with his NVIDIA card) set low resolution on my laptop monitor. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1067104 Title: Additional drivers not showing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/software-properties/+bug/1067104/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1067104] Re: Additional drivers not showing
On my system, I have a NVIDIA card that in all past releases, jockey would notify me of missing proprietary updates. This just happened to me, too.
