*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 912909 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/912909 I just noticed that starting gimp in a terminal with the switch --stack-trace-mode=always prevents the crash. save as saves and gimp stays on. So the command I use is: gimp --stack-trace-mode=always . This may or may not always work. I just made the observation. On other machines, set up differently, it may not even work at all. Hello, Can you please add a stacktrace to your report? To do this, launch GIMP from the command line, with the flag --stack- trace-mode=yes. Now when GIMP crashes, you'll see a question in the terminal asking you if you want to print a stack trace. Print it and attach it to your bug report.
