Public bug reported:

After upgrading from Ubuntu 12.04 to 12.10, the module for the JFS
filesystem seems to be missing from the new kernel, although its config
states that JFS has been enabled:

$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:    Ubuntu 12.10
Release:        12.10
Codename:       quantal

$ cat /proc/version

(Ubuntu/Linaro 4.7.2-2ubuntu1) ) #28-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 9 19:32:08 UTC 2012

$ grep JFS /boot/config-$(uname -r)
CONFIG_JFS_FS=m
CONFIG_JFS_POSIX_ACL=y
CONFIG_JFS_SECURITY=y
# CONFIG_JFS_DEBUG is not set
CONFIG_JFS_STATISTICS=y

$ modprobe -l | grep jfs
<empty>
$ find /lib/modules/$(uname -r) | grep jfs
<empty>
